Systems Architect

Den Bosch, Netherlands

At Hudl, we build great teams. We hire the best of the best to ensure you’re working with people you can constantly learn from. You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces.

We think of ourselves as the team behind the team, supporting the lifelong impact sports can have: the lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring coaches; and the opportunities to reach new heights. That’s why we help teams from all over the world see their game differently. Our products make it easier for coaches and athletes at any level to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and more.

Ready to join us?

Your Role

We’re looking for a Systems Architect to technically oversee the architecture, design and development of our camera product family (centered around Hudl Focus). These products are autonomous cameras that utilise edge AI to automatically track the action and upload to the cloud, offering our customers seamless access to vital, real-time video and insights.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Be a role model. We’ll be looking to you to be the technical reference for solving our most difficult challenges. You’ll show the team the path to best-in-class performance and quality.
  • Define the structure. You’ll play a key role in the hardware system architecture for our camera product family—by making informed decisions on technologies, components and solutions, you’ll ensure our products are robust, future-proof and cost-effective.
  • Be the technical face of the team. You’ll be the point of contact for technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders, connecting, reviewing and collaborating on their design solutions and qualification plans. This will include some global travel to other Hudl offices, suppliers, and development and manufacturing partners.

For this role, we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our office in Den Bosch. But with our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.

Must-Haves

  • Similar product experience. You’ve worked on the development and delivery of cameras or other related products, therefore being fluent in topics such as lenses, image sensors, camera communication protocols, ISP tuning, etc.
  • Big thinker who’s also detail-oriented. You can create complete systems architecture, diving deep wherever needed, and discuss problems and solutions with different types of stakeholders.
  • Experience in complex systems development. With your background, supporting complex systems with multiple modules interfacing with each other won’t be a problem.
  • Expertise in electronics. You have a solid foundation in hardware engineering and good familiarity with embedded software, alongside a proven track record of delivering state-of-the-art electronics designs, boards and products.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Knowledge of wired and wireless communication protocols. You’re familiar with areas such as PCIe, I2C, UART, MIPI (wired) and Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G/5G (wireless).
  • Experience with high-end SOM. You’ve built products based on high end System on Modules containing CPU/GPU/AI accelerators, as well as video ingestion and processing capabilities.
  • External partner participation. You’ve worked with JDM/ODM/CM models and with hardware suppliers.

Our Role

  • Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time above any required statutory leave, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
  • Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
  • Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
  • Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.
  • Support your wellbeing. Depending on location, we offer medical and retirement benefits for employees—but no matter where you’re located, we have resources like our Employee Assistance Program and employee resource groups to support your mental health.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is displayed below, and may be eligible for bonuses which are offered at Hudl's sole discretion.  Where a candidate is placed within this base salary range is determined by experience, skills, education and training required for the job as well as our internal pay equity.  Discretionary bonuses, if awarded, may include annual targets based on company performance and a long-term incentive award.

Base Salary Range

€100.000 - €156.000 EUR

Inclusion at Hudl

Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we’ll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.

We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there’s ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports

We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don’t hesitate to apply—we’d love to hear from you.
