About the Role

Hungryroot is looking for an Employee Experience Lead to be the architect of what it feels like to work here! This role owns the full employee experience arc, including culture, engagement, internal communications, learning and development, onboarding, workplace operations, and company events. You'll partner closely with People leadership and business leaders across the company to build a workplace that's connected, energized, and set up to perform at its best, fueling Hungryroot's next stage of growth.

This is a hybrid role. On average, you will be in the office 3 days per week. 

Responsibilities

 Employee Experience & Culture

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of company-wide employee experience initiatives that strengthen engagement, connection, belonging, and culture.
  • Serve as a steward of Hungryroot's culture by designing and scaling programs that reinforce company values and drive employee engagement.
  • Own and continuously improve employee experience programs across key moments of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through ongoing development and recognition.
  • Partner with People leadership to assess employee feedback and engagement data and translate insights into meaningful action plans.

Internal Communications

  • Own the company's internal communications strategy, ensuring employees receive timely, consistent, and engaging communications across all channels.
  • Develop and manage communication calendars, messaging frameworks, and communication best practices.
  • Lead company-wide communications including Team Meetings, organizational announcements, Nuclino content, Slack communications, and other employee-facing communications.
  • Continuously evaluate communication effectiveness and implement improvements to increase employee understanding and engagement.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Programs

  • Lead and continuously improve the company onboarding experience, ensuring new hires and managers are set up for long-term success.
  • Develop scalable onboarding programs, resources, and experiences that accelerate integration and productivity.
  • Partner with Recruiting, HRBPs, and hiring managers to deliver a best-in-class candidate and new hire experience.
  • Oversee onboarding communications, materials, welcome experiences, new hire and employee swag, and new hire programming.

Events & Engagement

  • Own the strategy, planning, execution, and communication of company-wide engagement initiatives, virtual events, in-person events, retreats, celebrations, leadership meetings, manager training sessions, and other key company programs.
  • Lead execution of recurring company-wide meetings including Team Meetings, The Dish, and other organizational forums.
  • Manage engagement and event budgets, ensuring effective planning, tracking, and communication with People leadership.
  • Evaluate event effectiveness and continuously evolve programs to maximize employee engagement and business impact.

Workplace Experience & Facilities

  • Serve as the primary owner of the workplace experience, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and productive office environment.
  • Oversee office operations including facilities management, vendor relationships, repairs, maintenance, supplies, food and beverage programs, shipping and receiving, and workplace services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for office vendors, landlords, brokers, and building management.
  • Manage office lease administration, amendments, and renewal processes in partnership with leadership and external partners.
  • Respond to and resolve workplace issues and employee requests in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Continuously improve workplace processes and experiences to support employee productivity and engagement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in employee experience, people operations, internal communications, or a related HR function, with progressively increasing scope and ownership
  • Proven track record designing and scaling programs across culture, engagement, onboarding, and/or learning & development in a fast-growing or fast-paced environment
  • Experience partnering with People leadership and senior business leaders to translate engagement data and employee feedback into actionable strategies
  • Strong internal communications skills, including experience building communication calendars, messaging frameworks, and company-wide announcements across multiple channels (e.g., all-hands meetings, Slack, etc)
  • Experience designing and delivering learning & development programs, including manager training and onboarding curricula
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing company events, offsites, or engagement programs, including budget management
  • Familiarity with workplace/facilities operations, including vendor management, office logistics, and lease administration (or willingness to grow into this scope)
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment on tone, timing, and audience
  • High degree of discretion, professionalism, and customer-service orientation when resolving employee and workplace issue

Expected Pay Range:
$120,000 - $140,000
