Purpose Of The Role:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Business Development Director to drive the sales function of our agency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating a new business pipeline, actively nurturing prospects, and selling our agency's offerings across Marketing Services including Account Based Marketing (ABM), Reputation & Comms, Alliances and Channel, and Demand Generation programmes for our clients.
Accountabilities:
- Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company revenue goals and expand our client base, working alongside the Marketing team to deliver this.
- New Business Generation: Identify potential clients and business opportunities using various tools and channels, including LinkedIn, CRM software, other data sources, and networking.
- Pipeline Management: Collaborate with the UK CEO, Head of Reputation & Comms, and Head of ABM & Marketing Services, and the broader teams to create and manage a robust pipeline of business opportunities.
- Prospect Nurturing: Engage with potential clients, understand their needs, and nurture them until they are ready to engage in discussions with our team.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs to adjust the business development strategies accordingly.
- Presentation and Proposal Development: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- CRM Management: Maintain the CRM software with all the necessary information about the leads, ensuring accurate reporting and efficient communication within the team.
- Networking: Represent the company at industry events and trade shows, fostering relationships and promoting our services.
Key KPIs:
- Number of Qualified Leads: The number of potential customers who fit the company's target ICP and show interest in its services.
- Conversion Rate: The rate at which the nurtured leads convert into sales-ready opportunities.
- Lead Time: The average time to convert a lead into a sales-ready opportunity.
- ROI on Business Development Efforts: The return on investment (ROI) of the resources spent on business development efforts.
- Data Accuracy: The accuracy of the data recorded in the CRM software about the leads.
You’ll Bring:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a B2B Marketing and/or B2B Comms agency.
- Proven track record of identifying and converting leads, meeting sales targets, and managing CRM software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other business development tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Deep understanding of the technology industry, market dynamics, and client needs.
- Experience in selling Reputation & Communications and B2B Marketing Services including Account Based Marketing (ABM), Alliances and Channel, and Demand Generation programs.
