Summary

iLABS is looking for a 6-month temporary Chemist intern to join our R&D team. The main function for the intern will be to support the chemists to innovate, prepare, and execute a multitude of projects. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working collaboratively and cross-functionally and are ready to take on a new challenge in a growing company with an incredible culture. After the 6-month internship, the intern will have the opportunity to be evaluated to be converted to full-time employment. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with Team Lead/Senior Chemist to execute various skin care, body care, and hair care projects, including OTC, such as sunscreen and anti-acne projects
  • Make batches, research and request raw materials, test skin care products, and troubleshoot under supervision  
  • Adhere to a cGMP environment, document and follow lab procedures with attention to detail
  • Prepare all required paperwork
  • Request and test new raw materials
  • Calibrate Lab Equipment as needed
  • Assist team members as needed
  • Assist in scale-up and production manufacturing
  • Attend cosmetic seminars and meetings
  • Perform other activities as required 

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of formulation experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Knowledge of basic science laboratory equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills
  • Attention to detail and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
