Hi there! We’re on the lookout for a copywriter to join our marketing team at Industrious to own and grow copywriting and editing projects that span marketing, advertising, member experience, and our digital products.

This is our first-ever copywriting role at Industrious, which means there’s pretty limitless room for growth and impact.

You’ll be expected to work in-person 2-3 days/week in office in major US markets, but ideally Chicago or New York City.

The ideal candidate has experience creating and implementing a variety of brand voice and tone guidelines and conveying brand identity through clear and clever copy. Please include a portfolio or writing samples with your application.

As a key contributor on our brand marketing team, success in this role hinges on your ability to swiftly embrace the Industrious brand strategy, codify our tone of voice and develop clear communications that embody our key brand attributes—warm, elevated, smart, joyful.

What you’ll do:

  • Write and edit engaging and thoughtful copy for diverse projects such as emails, advertising campaigns, physical assets, website experiments, sales collateral, and more.
  • Translate Industrious voice to be used across multiple target audiences  (prospective and current members, employees, and partners) and channels (social media, website, email comms).
  • Help build and maintain our ToV Guidelines to ensure consistency throughout all of our communications.
  • Be a proactive communicator with our own marketing and creative team, as well as other cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Embrace daily challenges and be resourceful in solving problems.
  • Manage working time and stay organized to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Participate in brainstorms and bring fresh ideas to the table while also living and breathing our brand guidelines

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience copywriting and editing marketing communications—including advertising copy and website copy —either at a well-known brand or agency
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in English, journalism, marketing or other relevant subject
  • Outstanding writing and grammar chops with refined proofreading and editing skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage many projects cross-departmentally at once
  • Motivated by writing copy that is inspiring and human
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of creating and being a steward for brand personality and TOV
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skill and multitasking ability

Compensation:

The annual base compensation range for this role is between $65,000 - $75,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications.

You will also be eligible for an annual bonus calculated based on individual and company performance.

Base and bonus compensation are just two components of Industrious’ total compensation package that may be available to employees.  Other great employee perks and benefits include heavily subsidized healthcare plans, generous paid time off, company stock options, wellness programs, professional development grants, 401k plan, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and company policies.
