Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring sales tax compliance for all states and all entities with external parties and directly with the states. Reviews all mail relating to state tax filings.
  • Respond to questions relating to marketplace accounts for non-Amazon accounts.
  • Manage process for AR invoices for Moonshot Vendor Central that are uploaded and reconciled in Amazon weekly, using support of team in China, ~100 per week.
  • Support with ad-hoc regulatory and tax compliance issues that come up, connecting legal, operations and accounting in a seamless manner.
  • Coordinating with team in China on European VAT returns and payments each month.
  • Review P&L and Balance Sheet accounts at month end, ensuring accruals are posted and reconciliations completed.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations ahead of month end consolidation.
  • Support managing the Accounting US inbox for ad hoc queries and requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis, or other closely related major. An earned degree is required for this role. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of applicable work experience; with at least two (2) in public accounting. A strong mix of public and private experience is essential for this role. Candidates without public experience will not be considered. 
  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, v-lookups) and knowledge of keyboard shortcuts working with large data sets (i.e., 5,000+ records) is critical to success. 
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and fundamental tax laws. 
  • Strong financial literacy and analysis skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Exhibits effective organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimal direction. 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize workload, and escalate conflicting priorities. 
  • Energy and commitment to work in high-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment. 

 

COMPENSATION

Salary range for this position is ₡11,383,492-₡14,229,365 annually. This is an indefinite independent contracting position.
