Portfolio Lead

Inizio is looking to hire a Portfolio Lead to join a global medical communications team with a leading biopharmaceutical client. This role involves working closely with our client as a partner and trusted advisor within a MedComms setting. Key therapy area knowledge in oncology, obesity, or rare disease would be advantageous.

You will be a senior scientific member of an existing team and should be able to demonstrate leadership aptitude, work closely with senior members of the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality scientific content, review the work of others, and mentor junior colleagues on all aspects of scientific writing. You will also tap into your medical communications expertise to work closely on client strategy as a partner/trusted advisor, build relationships with thought leaders, identify and support business opportunities with existing and new clients, help to provide accurate budgeting, account forecasting and development of the account, and help streamline internal processes.

Exhibition, events, congress and/or symposia experience would be valuable.  Some travel may be required for this position. You should have a commitment to quality, applying a sense of energy to all you do, maintain a positive attitude, and instil pride in the team for the work produced.

 

Your Role: Driving Strategy, Content, and Client Engagement

Strategic Insight & Content Excellence

  • Leverage deep scientific expertise to analyze client challenges and deliver strategic, results-driven solutions
  • Lead the creation and execution of high-quality scientific content aligned with client objectives and brand voice
  • Oversee and guide the internal scientific team, ensuring efficient task delegation and seamless collaboration.

 

Client Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for European clients, proactively anticipating their needs and providing tailored solutions
  • Engage with thought leaders, subject-matter experts, faculty, and key stakeholders with professionalism and strategic vision
  • Lead client discussions, project kick-offs, and status updates to ensure alignment and drive success
  • Provide onsite support as needed, embodying professionalism, tact, and confidence in all interactions.

Who You Are

Our ideal candidate is a dynamic and strategic scientific leader with:

  • Exceptional medical writing skills and the ability to manage multiple projects seamlessly
  • Proven experience developing content for medical affairs, scientific communications, KOL engagements, MOD/MOA illustrations, and pipeline overviews
  • A talent for relationship-building, fostering trust with new clients, and growing business organically
  • The ability to run a geographic business unit independently, making informed decisions with confidence
  • A quick-learning mindset, with the ability to master new therapeutic areas and disease states efficiently
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Suite).
