About the Role
As the Physical Security Specialist, you will be responsible for helping to keep our employees safe bv implementing and maintaining the physical security measures within our organization. This role involves managing security systems, developing security policies, and ensuring the safety of personnel and property. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical security, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond swiftly to security incidents and take risk reduction measures to keep our people and assets secure.
A Day in the Life
● Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarms, and emergency response systems.
● Responsible for multi-site (India, US, Middle East) coordination.
● Monitor systems to detect and respond to potential security breaches and drive continual improvement.
● Investigate physical security breaches and incidents, document findings, and implement corrective measures.
● Develop, implement, and enforce physical security policies, procedures, and protocols.
● Along with our Governance, Risk and Compliance Team, conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
● Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
● Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees to educate them on security policies, procedures, and best practices.
● Promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance across the organization.
● Manage relationships with security vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
● Oversee the work of security personnel, including guards and monitoring staff.
● Ensure compliance with local, state, and Government regulations related to physical security.
● Prepare and present regular security reports to management, highlighting key metrics, incidents, and improvement areas
What You Need
● Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in physical security, preferably within an IT or corporate environment.
● Strong knowledge of security systems, technologies, and best practices.
● Demonstrated experience with industry best practices as it relates to physical security (NIST, ISO, etc.)
● Demonstrated experience with FOB badging systems, CCTV, working with outside vendors in security management.
● Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and educate employees.
● Ability to remain calm and act swiftly in emergency situations.
● Certification or accreditation from a Risk or Security Management Association or governing body such as CPP
(Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) are a plus.
