Work Location: USCG Yard – Baltimore, MD | Hybrid

Schedule: Full-time onsite for the first 3–6 months; transitioning to a hybrid schedule with 2 days per week onsite thereafter.

Iron Mountain Solutions (IMS) is seeking a qualified Logistics Specialist / Provisioner to support the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Ice Breaker, Buoy and Construction Tender Product Line (IBCTPL).

The Logistics Specialist / Provisioner will provide provisioning, supply support, logistics analysis, and technical research in support of IBCT Product Line maintenance and supply requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, Supply personnel, Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) developers, cataloging personnel, and other Product Line stakeholders and will apply Coast Guard provisioning processes and desk guides.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs) and associated documentation to identify, validate, and resolve provisioning and supply-support requirements.
  • Complete and track Provisioning Requests submitted by engineers, Supply personnel, MPC developers, and other Product Line stakeholders through final resolution.
  • Validate Allowance Parts List (APL) data associated with MPCs and Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) to ensure required material and parts information is accurate and supportable.
  • Research National Stock Numbers (NSNs), part numbers, manufacturers, sources of supply, interchangeability, availability, and other supply information required to support provisioning actions.
  • Review and validate parts and supply data using applicable Coast Guard and Department of Defense systems and resources, including NESSS, MANTA, WebFLIS, SMDP, DLA resources, FLS, and other authorized data sources.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate provisioning and supply information in NESSS and related logistics systems in accordance with established Coast Guard procedures.
  • Prepare, process, and track Supply Item Change Requests (SICRs) and other required supply or cataloging actions to establish, correct, or update supply records.
  • Research and resolve incorrect, obsolete, incomplete, or missing parts and supply information by coordinating with engineering, Supply, cataloging personnel, MPC developers, manufacturers, and other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with cataloging personnel to establish new supply records or update existing records when discrepancies or new provisioning requirements are identified.
  • Build and update allowance documents as necessary to support required parts and material onboard Coast Guard cutters and other supported assets.
  • Gather technical, supply, vendor, and market data, including conducting market research, to thoroughly develop, document, and route Item Entry Proposals (IEPs) in accordance with Coast Guard provisioning procedures.
  • Assist with Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) development by identifying, researching, validating, and documenting associated material and provisioning requirements.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for provisioning actions and ensure actions, research, decisions, and outstanding issues are accurately tracked through completion.
  • Communicate and coordinate with engineers, Supply personnel, MPC developers, cataloging personnel, and other Product Line team members to answer provisioning questions and resolve supply discrepancies.
  • Apply working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Level of Maintenance Analysis (LOMA), and Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) concepts when evaluating logistics and provisioning requirements.
  • Apply an understanding of the Coast Guard logistics business model, including Configuration Management, Total Asset Visibility, Bi-Level Maintenance, and Product Line Management, when performing provisioning and supply-support activities.
  • Maintain familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and support research and documentation associated with small purchases and their applicability to ship repair contracts and supply purchases, as required.
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile logistics, provisioning, maintenance, and supply data from multiple Coast Guard and DoD-maintained systems to ensure consistency and accuracy across provisioning actions.
  • Identify unresolved provisioning or supply-support issues, coordinate corrective action with the appropriate stakeholders, and elevate issues when necessary in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Coast Guard provisioning processes, desk guides, logistics systems, supply procedures, and applicable configuration-management requirements.

Education and General experience:   

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document project status and proposed actions
  • Experience supporting provisioning processes
  • Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, maritime, military, or similar environments is preferred.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
