Job Summary

The Business Development Director will lead a team of 5-6 Regional Sales Managers to drive strategic growth, increase market share, and expand our client base within ISC. This role is focused on developing and executing business development strategies, building relationships with key clients, and overseeing the implementation of sales plans across multiple regions. The Business Development Director will collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, underwriting, and operations, to ensure alignment and achievement of company goals.

Position Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies for regional teams to increase sales and revenue growth.
  • Lead and inspire a team of Regional Sales Managers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure high levels of motivation, accountability, and success.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adapt and refine business development strategies.

Sales & Market Expansion:

  • Ensure RSMs are building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, brokers, and partners, acting as a key liaison between the company and its customers.
  • Overseeing RSMs and ensuring that they are identifying  new business opportunities, focusing on both new client acquisition and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Providing guidance and strategizing with RSMs to ensure the achievement of regional sales targets by tracking performance, analyzing data, and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Facilitate webinars and attend various trade shows.

Team Development & Management:

  • Hire, train, and manage Regional Sales Managers, ensuring that each region has a skilled and effective sales force capable of meeting targets.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development initiatives for regional managers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and results-driven performance within the sales team.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Engagement:

  • Work closely with marketing, underwriting, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align business development efforts with the overall strategic goals of the company.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, trends, and opportunities to the executive team.

Revenue & Profitability Management:

  • Ensure that all sales activities contribute to the overall profitability of the company by managing budgets, resources, and financial targets efficiently.
  • Review pricing strategies, customer contracts, and product offerings to ensure competitiveness and profitability in each region.
  • Adding key agencies within their footprints

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of years of 5 experience in a business development or sales individual contributor role within the insurance industry.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience within business development or sales within the insurance industry
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing sales teams and achieving significant revenue growth.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance market, products, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams at all levels.
  • Ability to think strategically, while also being hands-on in driving results.
  • Experience with CRM tools, data analytics, and sales performance tracking.

 

 

The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.

ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

National Pay Range

$130,000 - $160,000 USD
