Product Manager, Marketplaces & Partnerships

Location: Remote (Pacific Time zone working hours) or Hybrid (San Francisco Bay Area, CA)

itD is seeking a Product Manager in Marketplaces & Partnerships to join our Retail consulting services practice.

In this role, the ideal candidate will work with a leading retail client in the Marketplaces & Partnerships domain, helping drive high-impact initiatives across partner-facing experiences and integrations that expand assortment, reach, and customer value through third-party partners.

You will partner closely with Business Development, Legal, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, Data/Analytics, and external partner teams to deliver scalable capabilities and measurable business outcomes. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting multiple partners simultaneously — balancing onboarding timelines, technical integration needs, operational readiness, and customer experience quality across U.S. and Canada digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Product Manager to shape near-term priorities and translate Marketplaces & Partnerships strategy into a clearly sequenced execution plan, owning delivery for assigned product areas and partner workstreams.
  • Lead partner onboarding from discovery through launch: requirements definition, solution design, operational readiness, go-to-market coordination, and post-launch optimization.
  • Work with Engineering and partner technical teams to deliver scalable integrations (e.g., APIs, feeds, webhooks, and data exchange), including authentication, data quality, and observability.
  • Own the end-to-end partner experience across critical journeys such as catalog ingestion, pricing and promotions, inventory/availability, order routing, cancellations/returns, customer service handoffs, and settlement considerations in partnership with Finance.
  • Establish and maintain partner operating rhythms: status reporting, escalation paths, release planning, and shared success metrics.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs across multiple partners and internal stakeholders; proactively surface risks, dependencies, and resourcing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze KPIs (e.g., onboard time, catalog health, in-stock rate, order defect rate, cancellation/return rate, customer contact rate, and partner SLA adherence) to inform data-driven product decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement via experimentation, playbooks, and automation that reduce manual effort and improve partner scale.
  • Use AI-assisted delivery (including coding agents) as a repeatable practice to accelerate PM and engineering throughput: generate first drafts (PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, release notes), validate outputs with data and SMEs, and define guardrails for privacy/security, partner data handling, and human-in-the-loop approvals for high-risk or customer-impacting changes.
  • Create clear documentation (PRDs, user stories, process flows) and communicate product decisions and trade-offs to business, technical, and external partner audiences.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Attend internal itD networking and practice community events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent partner workstreams while maintaining high quality and clear communication.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership with the ability to influence Business Development, Operations, Legal/Compliance, Finance, Customer Service, and Engineering partners without direct authority.
  • Solid understanding of technical integration concepts (APIs, data feeds, webhooks, data quality, monitoring/alerts) and ability to translate constraints into great customer and partner experiences.
  • Analytical and metrics-driven; able to define KPIs, build/interpret dashboards, and use data to prioritize and evaluate success.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to support product delivery, with an understanding of key risks (hallucinations, privacy/security, IP, and data leakage) and the ability to define appropriate mitigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting product strategy, priorities, and trade-offs to senior leadership and external partner stakeholders.
  • Nimble and resourceful — comfortable hunting down information, asking the right questions, and contributing from day one with limited oversight.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • 4–6 years of experience in Product Management or a related role.
  • Experience building and scaling partner-facing products (e.g., onboarding workflows, developer experiences, APIs/feeds, SLAs) and working directly with external partners or vendors.
  • Background in ecommerce, marketplaces, platform, or partner/integration domains strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to loyalty, order fulfillment, or omnichannel/stores experience is a valuable advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models and common collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Slack, MS Teams).

Education

Bachelor's Degree required (or comparable professional experience); MBA preferred but not required.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
