Project Engineer (Detroit - Local Infrastructure)

Job Description:

The Project Engineer (Infrastructure/Detroit) is dedicated to completing innovative technology projects, enhancing system capabilities, and fostering a culture of collaboration to directly address the unique challenges of the area. This position is key in in delivering project solutions to clients that exceeds expectations through careful understanding of client technologies and a thoughtful approach to problem solving.

Prior Experience:

  • Proven project execution expertise with a track record of successful implementations. 
  • Strong technical proficiency in infrastructure components and systems. 
  • Strong technical proficiency in configuring and deploying various infrastructure changes, including firewalls, servers, networking, and wireless. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system optimization. 
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities for effective stakeholder engagement. 
  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to ensuring client satisfaction. 
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a customer-centric approach to project execution. 

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working with remote teams is desired.
  • Hands-on deployment and troubleshooting experience for different technologies including endpoints, servers, cloud technologies, networks, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, and at times high-pressure consulting environment.
  • Experience using Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools or ticketing platforms such as ConnectWise is required.
  • Prior experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment supporting multiple Clients.
  • Experience using Remote Monitoring and Management tools (RMM) such as Kaseya or LabTech/ConnectWise Automate, is required.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle that you can use for traveling to and from clients' offices and our offices.

  • Active Directory and Active Directory Services
  • DNS and DHCP
  • Basic PowerShell scripting
  • Storage Solutions such as NFS and SMB
  • Hypervisor Setup and Configuration
  • Windows Hyper-V
  • Cloud Platform Deployments
  • SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams
  • Equipment Setup and Deployment
  • Dell and HPE Server Chassis
  • Network Switches from Ubiquiti
  • Firewalls from Sophos
  • Wireless Access Points (WAPs) from Ubiquiti
  • Data Storage Device Setup and Deployment
  • NAS solutions from QNAP and Synology


Preferred Areas of Expertise:

Ideal candidates also have demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Hypervisor Setup and Configuration
  • VMWare ESXi
  • Nutanix Acropolis
  • Cloud Platform Deployments
  • Azure AD and Cloud Server
  • Apple MDM
  • Citrix ShareFile
  • Equipment Setup and Deployment
  • Network Switches from Cisco and Dell Enterprise
  • Firewalls from SonicWall and Fortinet
  • Wireless Access Points (WAPs) from Cisco Meraki and other Vendors such as TPLink
  • Data Storage Device Setup and Deployment
  • SAN solutions from Compellent and Nutanix

Compensation:

Pay rates start at $30.00/hr up to $40.00/hr and vary by experience and location.
