The Role
JPA is actively seeking a detail-oriented Account Executive (AE) to support our growing portfolio of biotech, pharma, and life sciences clients. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative and purpose-driven team supporting high-impact communications strategies across the healthcare innovation spectrum—from early clinical-stage companies to commercial brands.
This position is a full-time, hybrid role reporting to any JPA office (i.e., Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, New York City) 2 days per week and working remotely 3 days per week.
The Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will support:
- Client Support: Day-to-day execution of account tasks, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work across multiple projects.
- Content Development: Draft press releases, media pitches, key messages, digital and social media content, and client presentations.
- Media Relations: Support media outreach and engagement efforts with trade and top-tier health/science reporters.
- Campaign Execution: Contribute to the development and tactical implementation of integrated communications programs, including data milestones, regulatory approvals, disease awareness campaigns, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate interactions with media, advocacy organizations, medical experts, and other key influencers.
- Process Management: Manage content through regulatory/legal/medical review processes (e.g., Veeva Vault) and support ongoing budget and project tracking.
- New Business & Growth: Participate in new business research, proposal development, and organic growth opportunities within existing accounts.
About You
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations (PR) / Communications
- 2+ years of experience in a communications agency, preferably supporting healthcare, biotech, or life sciences clients.
- A strong writer with proven experience drafting a range of external communications.
- Knowledge of the evolving media landscape, including digital and social channels.
- Collaborative team player with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for learning about science, healthcare, and patient impact.
We would be thrilled if you also have:
- Prior agency experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of FDA regulatory environment and the healthcare industry landscape.
- Familiarity with MLR review tools like Veeva Vault.
- Experience with media, social media management or analytics tools a plus.

The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $55,000 and $65,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location. You may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. We review compensation annually and evaluate readiness for promotions every quarter.
