Senior Manager, Logistics Command Center:
- The Logistics department is responsible for effectively and efficiently providing materials management and logistics support to all LA28 functions. The Senior Manager, Logistics Command Center (PMO) will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of key logistics projects across multiple venues and functional areas. This role will ensure alignment between the eight (8) streams of Logistics as well as suppliers, internal clients and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope and in accordance with operational requirements for the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Reporting to the Head of Special Projects, the Senior Manager, Logistics Command Center (PMO) will manage cross-functional initiatives including planning timelines, risk mitigation strategies and operational readiness activities. This role will play a critical role in translating strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans and ensuring successful execution across all phases of the Games lifecycle. During the Games-time, this role will be responsible for coordinating the operations of the Logistics Command Center (LCC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of the Logistics Command Center (LCC), including systems, processes, and operating model
- Establish real-time monitoring capabilities across logistics operations, including fleet movements, warehouse activities, and venue deliveries
- Integrate multiple data sources (MDS, WMS, SAM, GPS tracking) into a centralized operational view
- Develop and manage dashboards, reporting tools, and communication protocols to support informed decision-making
- Coordinate daily command center operations, including shift planning, staffing, and escalation procedures
- Act as the central point of coordination for logistics incidents, disruptions, and emergency response activities
- Work closely with Technology (TEC) teams to define system requirements, testing, and deployment of command center tools
- Collaborate with Security to align command center operations with safety and security protocols
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for command center operations, including incident management and reporting
- Facilitate cross-functional communication between Logistics, Transport, Security, Venues, and external partners
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify risks, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities
- Lead scenario planning, simulations, and readiness exercises to validate command center operations
- Provide regular reporting and briefings to senior leadership on operational status, risks, and mitigation actions
- Develop staffing plans, recruit, train, and manage a multi-disciplinary command center team
- Support Games-time operations with extended hours, including shift-based coverage to ensure 24/7 functionality
Project Management
- Lead the planning and execution of logistics-related projects across venues and functional areas, ensuring alignment with overall Games delivery timelines
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and tracking tools to monitor progress, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate with internal functions (e.g., Transport, Procurement, Technology) and external stakeholders (Civil Servants, Customs Personnel, Logistics Service Provider) to ensure integrated planning and execution
- Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of operations
- Support the development and implementation of logistics processes, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting, including status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and planning sessions with stakeholders to ensure alignment and decision-making
- Support venue readiness planning including logistics overlays, delivery plans, and operational testing
- Assist in the coordination of bump-in and bump-out activities across venues
Background & Requirements:
- Previous games experience in a Function Command Center planning and operations, a strong plus
- 7+ years of experience in project management, logistics, supply chain, or large-scale event operations
- Experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and designing or operating a command center, operations center, or control tower environment
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (Microsoft Excel and/ or Smartsheet)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with multi-level communication experience
- Strong understanding of logistics systems such as WMS, TMS, GPS tracking, and scheduling platforms (e.g., MDS)
- Experience managing real-time operations and responding to dynamic, high-pressure environments with the ability to interpret operational requirements and translate them into actionable project plans
- Competence to manage relationships between internal stakeholders and oversee end to end issues management
- Aptitude to present and clearly communicate to audiences in a multitude of public / private settings, as required
- Willing to work on complex, tight, immovable timelines while maintaining a positive attitude, exhibiting patience, persistence and attention to detail
- Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment

Education:
- An undergraduate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Data Management Services preferred]
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Expectation to work in LA28 offices in Los Angeles
- Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and attending virtual or in-person meetings
- Occasional travel to venue, airport, or vendor meetings may be required

The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
