The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.
The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Manager, Environmental Design
At LA28, we’re not just preparing venues—we’re reimagining how the world experiences them. As Manager, Environmental Design, you will lead the creative vision for how Olympic and Paralympic venues across Los Angeles are brought to life visually. From Long Beach to Sepulveda Basin, your designs will shape the first—and most lasting—impression of LA28.
You’ll craft immersive, high-fidelity concept renderings that visualize the transformation of existing world-class venues into once-in-a-lifetime Olympic and Paralympic stages. Working from a foundation in architecture or set design, you will translate the LA28 Visual Identity into compelling spatial concepts that guide how Look of the Games, Wayfinding, and Field of Play graphics are ultimately expressed.
Reporting to the Head of Brand Design, this position will work cross-functionally with venue operations, marketing, licensing, partnerships, and production teams to bring the LA28 vision to life through world-class environmental and experiential design. The ideal candidate has expertise in venue branding, large-scale graphics, and experiential design, with a keen understanding of how visual identity translates into physical environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Innovation
- Create a stylistic approach that ensures consistent application of designs across all sports
- Help define visual standards and toolkits for venue environments that will guide large-scale implementation in Games-time delivery
Design
- Create photorealistic renderings and immersive presentations that help internal teams, partners, and stakeholders visualize the LA28 experience
- Apply the LA28 Visual Identity system across venue types—stadiums, arenas, parks, temporary builds—imagining bold, brand-driven transformations
- Lead the development and execution of the Look of the Games across Olympic and Paralympic competition and non-competition venues
- Develop wayfinding systems, signage, and placemaking strategies to enhance the spectator and athlete experience
Collaboration
- Collaborate with Venue team and architects to ensure feasibility and execution of large-scale graphics and installations
- Collaborate with Signage and Broadcast teams to visualize how graphics perform across physical scales and audience perspectives
- Partner with architects, planners, and production vendors to translate concept designs into real-world environments
- Partner with Marketing, Licensing, and Merchandise teams to ensure retail and consumer-facing environments align with the LA28 brand vision
- Collaborate with the Torch Relay, Mascot, and Medals teams to incorporate key ceremonial elements into environmental design
- Design branded environments for fan activations, hospitality spaces, medal plazas, and athlete villages
- Support the development of temporary and permanent installations, ensuring impact, visibility, and alignment with the LA28 brand
- Work closely with event producers and operations teams to develop run-of-show visual elements, ensuring cohesive storytelling across ceremonies, press events, and other milestone moments
Background & Qualifications:
- 7+ experience in environmental design, experiential branding, or large-scale event design
- Strong portfolio of 3D design work that showcases the ability to create spatially rich, branded environments—preferably for sports, entertainment, or cultural events
- Expert proficiency in Autodesk platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, or 3ds Max) with fluency across other 3D modeling/rendering tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, Cinema 4D, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of large-format print production, materials, and fabrication processes
- Experience working with architectural teams, event producers, and venue planners
- Deep understanding of spatial composition, materiality, human scale, and audience experience in both temporary and permanent installations
- Experience working with architects, urban planners, or scenic production teams to develop concepts that can scale to real-world implementation
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic, high-profile environment
- Familiarity with the Olympic and Paralympic Games a plus—what matters most is a passion for sports culture and crafting iconic spaces that inspire and unite

Position Requirements:
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Candidates should expect a 4-5-day workweek, primarily based in the LA28 Los Angeles office
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are required
- May involve standing and walking at events, activations, or production shoots
- Ability to lift and carry light materials (such as marketing collateral) as needed for events
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary, particularly leading up to key campaigns and milestone events

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
