Manager, Central Hospitality Operations:

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities  

The Manager, Central Hospitality Operations, reporting to the Senior Manager, Hospitality Operations & Event Production, will be responsible for the creation and oversight of event and operational principles related to transversal topics across all venues. This includes, but is not limited to, food & beverage, security, accreditation, and transportation.

This role will lead central planning-related projects and manage requests originating from the OCOG Central Planning Team, including the development of Hospitality’s overarching Functional Area Service Plans (FASPs), which encompass space planning, service standards, and operating principles. 
 
The Manager will work in close partnership with On Location, LA28’s exclusive hospitality provider, to ensure full alignment on principles, planning, and implementation frameworks. Once overarching principles are defined, this position will collaborate with In-Venue Hospitality Managers (IVH) to apply and operationalize those principles across individual venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document central operational and event principles for transversal topics impacting Hospitality operations, including food & beverage, security, accreditations, and transportation.
  • Lead the creation and continuous iteration of the Hospitality Functional Area Service Plans (FASPs), ensuring alignment with central OCOG planning and operational frameworks and deliverables. 
  • Partner closely with On Location to align on operational planning needs, space allocation standards, and service-level expectations as it applies to principles.
  • Collaborate with In-Venue Hospitality Managers to implement overarching principles at the venue level, ensuring consistency in guest experience and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate with internal LA28 functional areas (Food & Beverage, Security, Accreditation, Transportation) to ensure Hospitality’s needs are integrated into Games-wide planning.
  • Synthesize complex operational data and develop business plans, recommendations, and presentations for leadership and cross-functional review.
  • Serve as a key liaison for Hospitality within central planning meetings, representing the function’s priorities and ensuring alignment across workstreams. 

Background and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated operational experience within large-scale event, venue, or hospitality environments, with the ability to identify and develop key operational principles and priorities.
  • Proven ability to translate complex operational needs into actionable planning frameworks, business plans, and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills with experience preparing and presenting findings to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience managing client and stakeholder relationships, with a focus on collaboration and alignment across diverse teams.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, operating effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The position is in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required.
  • Majority of work may be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • Visits to event venues and hospitality spaces may be necessary, involving physical inspections and coordination with venue staff.
  • Site visits may require navigating varying environmental conditions in external locations.

Expectations:

  • Demonstrates initiative and confidence in representing the Hospitality function across planning forums.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field required, or equivalent work experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00-105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
