
Scientific Director, Medical Affairs

Our strategic partnership is designed to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies to advance the promise of an immunotherapy in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
Legend Biotech is seeking Scientific Director, Medical Affairs as part of the Medical Affairs team based in Somerset, NJ.
Role Overview
The Scientific Director will be an integral part of the Medical Affairs team. This role will contribute to Medical strategy as well as Scientific leadership for the US BCMA CAR-T asset in Multiple Myeloma and other assets in the pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the US Scientific lead and subject matter expert for Medical Affairs to the organization, partner company and associates
- Create and drive the implementation of the joint US Medical Affairs plan in collaboration with partner company
- Ensure US medical activities are aligned with global strategy with seamless execution
- Lead US KOL engagement plan and communicate advisor insights to advance asset launches, clinical development program and evidence generation
- Liaise with the Integrated Evidence Generation Team Lead at partner company to ensure evidence generation plans are jointly aligned across organizations
- Develop and execute US Medical Affairs real-world studies and value & evidence studies
- Collaborate with the Medical team for congress prep, abstract/manuscript reviews, development of exhibit materials, FAQs, medical response documents and training plans
- Collaborate strategically with Commercial teams and strategic partners in accordance with all relevant operating procedures
- Provide Medical input across functional working groups including but not limited to Label, Safety, Business Planning and Integrated Evidence
- Provide Medical input for clinical development plans as well as cross-functional activity requests
- Review CME and Medical Sponsorship requests
- Assist in budget forecasting and reconciliation while working closely with finance personnel to ensure compliance with financial processes
- US cross-functional workstreams, ensuring all plans and activities have Medical relevance
- Conceptualization and review of publications
- “Pre” and “post” congress forums to update organization on key data and implications
- Steering committee membership recommendations and operating agreements
- Have the authority to make decisions related to strategy and execution of your deliverables
- Make decisions related to project execution, including timelines, milestones and resource allocation within budget. Higher-level approvals are required for those related to significant budget allocations, strategic shifts, or major collaborations that have substantial financial or long-term implications.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) preferred. BS degree in scientific or medical discipline will be considered.
- 5 years of Hematology/Oncology experience (prior cell therapy experience a plus)
- Demonstrated proficiency with the most current computer operating systems, Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Concur, Veeva and other PC-based applications.
