Agile Project Manager

Charlotte, NC, United States

*PLEASE NOTE: this role requires the employee to be located in Charlotte, NC and come into our Southend office three days a week.*

The Role

We’re looking for an Agile Project Manager who does more than keep teams on track — someone who brings clarity to complexity and helps teams make better decisions.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Product, and stakeholders to drive delivery while anticipating risks, surfacing insights, and translating business priorities into clear, actionable plans. This role operates at both the team and system level — connecting day-to-day execution to broader outcomes.

You’ll lead multiple teams through planning and delivery, while shaping how we scale, align, and continuously improve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile ceremonies and delivery practices, ensuring meetings drive decisions, not just updates
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to translate business goals into clear, executable plans across teams
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and gaps — and address or escalate them early and clearly
  • Remove impediments by driving ownership and alignment, not just surfacing blockers
  • Build and communicate insights (metrics, trends, risks) that inform better decisions at both team and leadership levels
  • Connect work across teams and initiatives to ensure alignment with broader business priorities
  • Challenge assumptions and raise ideas that improve team effectiveness, delivery, and clarity
  • Coach teams on Agile principles, accountability, and prioritization to improve flow and predictability

 How You Operate

  • You think beyond the ticket — connecting team execution to business outcomes
  • You proactively raise risks, ideas, and tradeoffs — even when it’s uncomfortable
  • You escalate clearly and early, with context and proposed paths forward
  • You bring structure to ambiguity and help teams move forward without waiting for perfect clarity
  • You communicate with precision and intent, tailoring your message to your audience
  • You take initiative — doing the thinking, not waiting for direction

 Qualifications

Experience

    • Experience managing or coordinating software development work in an Agile environment
    • Demonstrated ownership in driving delivery, aligning stakeholders, and proactively addressing risks
    • Strong familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
    • Experience leading Agile ceremonies and using metrics to guide team performance
    • Proven ability to translate complex technical or delivery concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
    • Experience operating across multiple teams, workflows, or delivery models, with the ability to understand how they interconnect and impact overall delivery

Skills & Attributes

    • Strong systems thinker who can identify dependencies, risks, and broader impact across teams
    • Communicates complex ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Proactive operator who identifies issues and acts before they become blockers
    • Comfortable influencing without authority and challenging assumptions when needed
    • Demonstrates sound judgment in when to push, when to escalate, and when to unblock directly
    • Maintains composure and focus in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively drive alignment and influence outcomes in cross-functional settings

 What Success Looks Like

  • Teams have clear direction and move with confidence
  • Risks and dependencies are surfaced early — not discovered late
  • Stakeholders feel informed, aligned, and not surprised
  • Teams continuously improve how they plan and deliver
  • You are seen as a trusted partner in both execution and decision-making
