Intern, ECU Manufacturing, Test Engineer, Summer 2025
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our ECU Mfg Test, Sustaining and Diagnostics team and to define requirements, plan, development and deploy new SW Test and Tools and other related duties under the mentorship of senior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SW development and HW basics and be able to work independently and collaboratively to ensure our systems are functioning efficiently.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Develop SW to test HW and supporting tools for new programs for our ECUs (Electronic Control Unit)
- Create new or update existing SW and tools to support new and legacy ECUs test to our new test planform
- Document the processes developed, including detailed steps and procedures
- Setup data collection interfaces for our new testers and test platform.
- Create automated tools, dashboards and alerts based on tester data using SystemLink
- Assist with troubleshooting system issues and identifying solutions
- Communicate regularly with senior engineers and other team members to provide progress updates and receive feedback
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to team projects as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing, SW and integration activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working SW knowledge of C+/C##, Python, LabVIEW, with NI TestStand a plus
- Experience developing and writing testing scripts, database management and GUIs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Education:
- Field(s) of study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program at an accredited university.
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)
Program Information:
- Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
- Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
- Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $48 to $66 (Subject to changes).
- Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.
- Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
- Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
- Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.
- Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.

Base Pay Range (hourly)
$48 - $66 USD
