
Staff Software Engineer, Android Automotive Framework
Job Description
Lucid Motors is leading the charge in redefining luxury electric vehicles. We are seeking a highly skilled Android Automotive Framework Specialist to join our Infotainment Software team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, enhancing, integrating, optimizing, and delivering Android Framework features and functions for Lucid’s next-generation infotainment systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as application developers, architects and QA in developing and integrating new features and functions.
Key Responsibilities:

Android Framework Enhancement
-
Develop, maintain, and optimize framework components and services on Android Automotive OS (AAOS)-based infotainment systems.

Optimize system performance, ensuring stability, low latency, and minimal resource consumption.
- Diagnose and resolve software issues related to CarPlay, Android Auto, connectivity, and multimedia performance.

Work closely with hardware, UX, system engineering, applications and other cross functional teams implement new features
- Document development processes, design decisions, and participate in regular code reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

8+ years of experience in embedded systems development for automotive.
- Expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and/or Android Framework development.

Proficiency in Java, C/C++

Hand on experience in Android Framework implementing/enhancing either of USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Multimedia, Power Management, Audio framework components.

Experience in Android HAL development using NDK

Exposure to Linux Kernel and device driver concepts
- Strong problem solving and technical communication skills.
- Proficient in debugging with tools like adb, logcat, Wireshark, and gdb.

Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands on experience in Android Framework

Experience in Android HAL development and native development using NDK

Experience in Automotive Infotainment product development
