
Sr Process Engineer, Stamping
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Sr. Stamping Process Engineer. The Stamping Process Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead role in designing new stamping equipment’s, improvement for current equipment’s and processes at Lucid. The Stamping Process Engineer will work very closely with Manufacturing Operation teams, Logistics, Manufacturing and Product Engineering, New Product Introduction, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the Stamping process is properly designed and implemented. You Will :
Process Requirements and Operational Readiness:
- Lead the planning and execution of Stamping new launch activities, ensuring that all operational readiness requirements are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define Stamping Process requirements, timelines, and resources.
- Ensure the readiness of equipment’s, dies, tools, and materials for the smooth launch of Stamping operations.
- Identify, trial, and implement any new tools, equipment and processes that could improve safety, quality and production efficiency
- Develop and implement training programs for production teams
Stamping Quality Assurance and Process Quality Control:
- Oversee the integration of quality checks within the Stamping process to ensure compliance with quality standards and prevent defects.
- Direct responsibility of achieving quality targets including the development of quality control plans, quality checks and statistical process control (SPC) that supports variability reduction and prevent internal costumer impacts.
- Implement process controls to monitor and maintain consistency in stamping product quality, emphasizing the use of automated/digital systems and error-proofing tools.
- Work closely with the quality teams to establish and refine stamping-related specifications and guidelines to ensure consistency across production.
- Ensure that quality control standards are adhered to in Stamping processes, collaborating closely with the production and Quality department to drive continuous improvement tools.
- Implement corrective actions based on quality audits, PFMEA analysis, and other relevant data to improve product quality and production efficiency.
- Lead and coordinate quality problems by implementing permanent solutions.
PFMEA and Risk Management:
- Apply Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify potential risks in the Stamping processes and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the production, die engineering and quality teams to implement corrective actions based on PFMEA findings, minimizing the risk of process failures and enhancing product quality.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve risk management practices and process reliability throughout the Stamping Process.
Launch Operation Preparation:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans for Stamping launches (New Dies), including task allocation, resource planning, and risk management.
- Ensure the integration of new project dies and equipments, coordinating with manufacturing engineering, quality, and logistics teams.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth launch execution and operational success.
Team and Resource Management:
- Lead and mentor the Stamping launch team, providing guidance on operational priorities and resource allocation.
- Manage staffing, training, and resource needs, collaborating with operations managers to ensure the timely availability of materials and new tools.
- Foster a collaborative work environment focused on achieving launch goals and maintaining high standards for safety, quality and productivity of lines.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor process progress and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with the overall stamping process strategy and production goals.
- Report on productivity status, quality performance, and potential risks to senior management, providing insights into necessary actions for success.
- Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms for product performance, budget adherence, and resource utilization.
Problem Resolution and Continuous Improvement:
- Address challenges during the production/launch phase, ensuring timely resolution with minimal impact on production timelines.
- Participate in root cause analysis teams and problem-solving activities, focusing on productivity, process improvements, and quality control measures.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce and avoid all different type of waste and drive to a more efficient processes
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree, Mechanical Engineering major with a Stamping process experience is preferred.
- 5-8+ years of Stamping Process Engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with an emphasis Aluminum and Steel stamping dies and tools required.
- Proven engineering experience in stamping processes, equipment’s and the dies.
- Passion for results, strategy, and hands on execution. Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage difficult problems.
- Strong understanding of stamping process and operations, with excellent die knowledge, stamping process controls and PFMEA in an automotive stamping manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in managing new die launches, including cross-functional coordination and resource management.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on risk mitigation and quality control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams and departments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, project management tools, and financial tracking software.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Proficient in Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
- Proficient in engineering software programs (AutoCAD, CatiaV5, SolidWorks…etc.)
- Fluent in English
