
Maintenance Technician
Lucid is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial production equipment and facility support systems to maximize uptime, quality, and safety. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and conveyance systems, documents work in a maintenance management system, and partners with production and engineering to drive continuous improvement.
You Will:
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to support safe, reliable operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (e.g., 24 VDC to 480 VAC, 3‑phase), including sensors, motor controls, wiring, and circuit protection devices; use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter) appropriately.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems (pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators, air/fluid supply) to ensure proper pressure, flow, and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and conveyance systems (bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, motors, chains, belts, conveyors); perform precision alignment, calibration, and component replacement to minimize downtime.
- Support and troubleshoot automation systems such as PLCs, drives/VFDs, networks, robots, and related mechatronics equipment; assist with commissioning and integration of new equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams to plan and execute repairs.
- Follow all safety policies and applicable regulations; apply lockout/tagout and verify work meets recognized standards (e.g., OSHA/NFPA/NEC/ANSI, as applicable).
- Document maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status in the CMMS, communicate effectively with production, engineering, leadership, and vendors.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify root cause of recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous improvements.
- Support spare parts/inventory processes (identify needs, order parts, maintain on-hand levels) and coordinate contractors/vendors as needed.
You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical/vocational training or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience; advanced experience with highly automated equipment is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications; comfortable with precision measurements and calibration.
- Working knowledge of electrical controls and automation (e.g., PLC logic, drives/VFDs, sensors, robotics/mechatronics).
- Commitment to safe work practices and knowledge of industrial safety requirements; effective communicator and team collaborator.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; willingness to work overtime/weekends as needed and operate powered industrial equipment (as trained/certified).
Preferred
- Experience with welding/cutting (MIG/TIG/stick) and basic fabrication.
- Experience with lifting/rigging, pipe fitting, and rebuilding cylinders/valves.
- Certifications/training such as high-climb, confined space, lift equipment, or similar (as applicable).
Essential Physical Requirements
- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift) in a production/industrial environment.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, assembling components, and operating machinery; requires fine motor skills and grip strength.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 10–50 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. with assistance or mechanical support.
- Reaching and Bending: Routine reaching above shoulder level, bending, twisting, and squatting as required by tasks.
- Repetitive Motions: Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movements for tasks such as fastening, positioning, and installing components.
- Climbing: Occasional climbing of steps/ladders and working at varying heights (with appropriate training and equipment).
- PPE Expectations: Wear required PPE (e.g., safety shoes, gloves, eye and hearing protection) in accordance with site safety requirements.
