Production Lead

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Located at our Byron Center, MI location, the Production Lead collaborates with our production team and oversees day to day start up, running and shut down of the production lines to produce the highest quality product and meet on time delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Promoting a safe work environment for all employee owners
- Modeling Lumbermen’s core values
- Training, motivating, and coaching employee owners
- Approaching work each day with a positive attitude
- Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of production operations
- Assigning work ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Facilitating strong communication with the customer service team
- Having a “customer first” mindset and mentality
- Leveraging lean management systems to promote a measurable continuous improvement culture
- Utilizing problem-solving skills to promote a cost effective and seamless process
- Leading 5S efforts to create a visual place for everything
- Assisting the team as needed
- Performing other tasks/duties as requested by the Superintendent

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance for uniform, protective footwear, and PPE.

- Paint/stain experience preferred

KEY QUALIFICIATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma/GED required
- Leadership experience preferred
- Commitment to safety and adherence to policies as a top priority
- Able to lead by example and lead others to success
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effectiveness in providing clarity to team in achieving company goals and objectives
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Able to reach, grasp, bend, and stoop
- Able to be on feet 8 hours per day
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs. repetitively/continuously
