Lunar Energy is hiring a strategic Hardware Product Manager to drive the scaling and expansion of our residential energy products. You will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of the Lunar System—our best-in-class hardware suite covering solar generation, battery storage, and load control—while also defining and expanding our future hardware offerings for all-electric homes. This key, cross-functional role requires translating robust customer and market requirements into actionable insights and roadmaps, spearheading new product launch activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge energy products and a world-class experience for both end customers and installers.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…
- Develop a deep, systematic understanding of residential energy hardware products; translate product knowledge and customer insights into business cases and product requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Software Product, Program Management, and Commercial teams to effectively guide roadmap prioritization.
- Define clear product messaging and market positioning. Effectively communicate value, differentiation, and benefits to all stakeholders (customers, installers, and internal teams), and empower commercial and deployment teams through product training and compelling sales collateral.
- Publish and maintain key technical documentation, including datasheets, installation manuals, training content, and independent engineering reports. Update internal and external stakeholders with latest information on product performance, installation, and compliance.
- Gather and synthesize industry trends, market intelligence, and competitor benchmarking data. Evaluate customer economics, pain points, and use cases across customer types and geographies to inform go-to-market planning.
- Act as the subject matter expert for incentives, sales proposal tools, interconnection requirements, and permitting processes.
- Provide sales engineering support for complex applications, presenting products in client demos, conferences, webinars etc.
- Ensure Lunar's hardware is bankabable by coordinating with Engineering, test labs, and third-party financiers to secure Approved Vendor List listings in a timely manner.
- Work with external partners, where appropriate, to integrate 3rd party hardware into Lunar’s product offerings
- Collaborate with external partners to seamlessly integrate third-party hardware into the Lunar product ecosystem.
Desired skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with sales engineering, application engineering, project engineering, or product management in the energy sector.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience developing or commercializing energy products, including solar, energy storage, EV charging, or other power equipment products.
- Experience working with hardware OEMs and engineering consultancies on joint R&D, vendor qualification, compliance, and bankability.
- Experience managing internal and external stakeholders and communicating with them about product delivery timeline, technical specifications, and value propositions.
- Exceptional communication skills with a track record of managing internal and external stakeholders regarding product delivery, technical specifications, and value propositions.
- Outstanding analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large qualitative and quantitative information into actionable product insights.
- Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, residential utility tariffs, and residential solar battery installation process.

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $125,000 - $160,000 USD.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
