See Your Work in a New Light

At LUX Infusion, we believe every part of the patient experience matters, including the work behind the scenes that keeps care moving forward.

We’re looking for a Medical Collections Specialist who brings persistence, accuracy, and accountability to reimbursement follow-up. In this role, your work will help resolve outstanding insurance claims, reduce aging balances, and support continued patient access to infusion therapy.

Why This Role Matters

Timely reimbursement is essential to maintaining continuity of patient care. As a Medical Collections Specialist, you’ll play an important role in ensuring claims are followed through to resolution and payer balances are managed effectively.

Your work will help:

  • Support uninterrupted access to infusion therapy
  • Drive timely and accurate reimbursement
  • Reduce outstanding and aging payer balances
  • Strengthen collaboration across billing, pharmacy, and operations
  • Ensure compliance with payer contracts, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support a financially strong, patient-first organization

Behind every successful infusion is a revenue-cycle process that works, and this role helps keep that process moving.

What You’ll Do

As a Medical Collections Specialist, you will:

  • Follow up on submitted insurance claims to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement
  • Manage assigned payer accounts and work outstanding balances through resolution
  • Investigate denied, underpaid, and unpaid claims and determine the appropriate next steps
  • Communicate directly with insurance payers to resolve claim issues and secure reimbursement
  • Identify claims that were billed correctly versus those requiring correction, reconsideration, appeal, or rebilling
  • Review payer contracts, coverage requirements, and reimbursement methodologies
  • Collaborate with billing, pharmacy, and operations teams to resolve reimbursement issues
  • Respond professionally and promptly to internal and external inquiries regarding claim status
  • Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity and payer follow-up
  • Stay current on billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policy changes
  • Utilize clearinghouses and billing systems to support effective collections workflows
  • Assist with reporting, data entry, and additional revenue-cycle responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain accuracy, professionalism, and consistent follow-through across assigned accounts

What We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you bring:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Persistence and confidence when following up with insurance payers
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • A customer-service mindset balanced with financial accountability
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ownership of assigned accounts and a drive to see claims through to resolution

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of medical collections or related revenue-cycle experience
  • Experience communicating with insurance payers and/or resolving outstanding claims
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of medical collections experience
  • Previous home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or infusion therapy billing/collections experience
  • Experience working with insurance denials, underpayments, appeals, and payer follow-up
  • Experience using healthcare billing platforms, clearinghouses, or revenue-cycle systems

Don’t check every box? We still encourage you to apply. We value experience, but we also value persistence, problem-solving, accountability, and a commitment to getting things done the right way.
