CMM Programmer

Job Summary:
Under general supervision from the Quality Assurance Manager, this role is responsible for writing and executing CMM programs, gauge/fixture calibration, support APQP and quality planning activities to support on-time PPAP submissions. Perform assigned SPC capability data analysis and reporting, problem resolution in assigned team participation, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, write and execute CMM programs used to inspect product quality, new products, and certify gauges and fixtures used in metals stamping manufacturing operation
- Troubleshoot existing CMM programs as needed
- Use GD&T to evaluate product quality compliance and provide reports as required by customer or internal requirements
- Adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
- Assist in gauge/fixture R&R studies and provide reports as required by customer or internal requirements.
- Assist Quality Assurance team when required
- Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers as needed
- Lead by example and maintain a strong professional demeanor at all times and always possess a “Can do attitude”
- Maintain customer portals for PPAP submissions where assigned
- Maintain gauges with minor repairs to support production and assist with outside repairs or parts where needed. (i.e. feeler gauge, broken pins, broken clamps, etc…)
- Maintain on-time gauge/fixture calibration and entries into tracking software.
- Participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement
- Periodic calibration and analysis of measurements and measurement devices
- Supply CMM data for DOE’s or other floor related experiments
- Support assigned audits as scheduled
- Support receiving inspection program as directed
- Use knowledge in the effective use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements, both within Lydech, and externally at our customers/suppliers
- Use knowledge of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to effectively participate on APQP Teams when required
- Use knowledge of the requirements of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and able to assist with PPAP documentation completion
- Work extended hours when required
- All other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- 3+ years experience in manufacturing / quality assurance
- 3+ years experience in CMM programming using PC-DMIS and PolyWorks
- Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and data on a computer
- Computer proficiency (above average) required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of inspection methods and reading measurement tools and instruments
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
- Must be highly organized and detailed orientated
- Must have good written and verbal English communication skills
