M9 Solutions is seeking a System Administrator 1 to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in Sacramento, CA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to end users in accessing and using IT systems.
- Answer help desk phone calls; triage initial phone calls, provide support, and determine when escalation is required.
- Utilize a technology-based problem-tracking system (e.g., a ticketing system) to document helpdesk phone calls; document troubleshooting steps prior to completing the ticket and/or escalating to the next level of support.
- Monitor enterprise system status for problems such as network outages and/or degraded services; provide initial troubleshooting and notify proper Sr. Level administrators when required.
- Support daily operations to include monitoring and reviewing system logs.
- Support configuration and management of Windows operating systems and install/load operating system software.
- Support desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates.
- Support execution of IAVA updates and patching to ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards.
- Support application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to Windows-based operating systems (servers and workstations).
- Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of 3rd party applications.
- Performs root cause analysis on significant issues at appropriate level of support.
- Support preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size analysis, and integrity checks.
- Stay current with technological developments and make recommendations for ways to take advantage of new and emerging technology.
- Contribute to technical documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOP) and as-builts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Up to 10% annual travel, CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Perform all duties under direct supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of progressive experience, or HS Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of progressive experience.
- Requires some system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
- Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Basic knowledge of large-scale networking, VLANs, and routing.
- Requires reliable attendance at the client site during work hours required by the client.
- Requires the ability to work flexible shifts that include nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
- Requires a minimum of IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Able to use MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

- M9 Solutions’ pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, location, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Salary Range
$60,000 - $180,000 USD
