Senior Revenue Accountant

MaintainX is looking for a strong Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Financial Reporting team. As the Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the revenue recognition cycle in accordance with ASC 606. What you’ll do:

  • Perform monthly closing activities for revenue, cost of revenue, deferred revenue, deferred cost and any associated revenue or cost of revenue accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to US GAAP.
  • Prepare and/or update technical accounting memos and related analyses to document the company position on technical accounting matters in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Review customer contracts and arrangements to ensure proper recognition under ASC 606.
  • Support management reporting and provide insights into revenue trends.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal in providing technical guidance on new revenue streams, pricing models, and business initiatives.
  • Assist with external audits, providing revenue schedules and support documentation.
  • Support system enhancements and automation of revenue processes.

About you:

  • CPA, or progress towards CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance / Accounting in SAAS / "SAAS-like" technology companies or organizations. 
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Experience with ERP systems and revenue automation tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, including establishing credibility, trust and influential relationships with cross functional teams 
  • Proven success maintaining positive attitude while handling multiple (and sometimes competing) priorities
  • Strong drive to achieve goals while working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong MS Word and Excel skills.
  • English: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
