How You'll Make an Impact at MarqVision
- Serve as the lead HR partner for employees across China, owning and scaling People Operations with the primary office based in Shanghai
- Act as the HR business partner for managers across China, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
- Build and implement HR processes across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and alignment with global standards
- Partner closely with the APAC People hub (based in Korea) to localize and implement People policies in China
- Drive hiring strategies and execution to support rapid growth from ~30 to 50+ employees
- Own and operate payroll processes with high accuracy, ensuring compliance with local regulations and timely execution
- Oversee office operations and general affairs for the Shanghai office, creating an efficient and engaging workplace environment
What You’ll Achieve
- Successfully scale the China organization from ~30 to 50+ employees with strong hiring outcomes and a high talent bar
- Establish stable and compliant HR and payroll operations across China
- Build and implement a scalable HR infrastructure that supports continued growth
- Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, minimizing operational and legal risks
- Strengthen alignment between the China team and global People strategies
- Improve employee experience and engagement across the China organization
- Create a well-managed and efficient workplace environment in the Shanghai office
Skills You’ll Need to Bring
- Strong experience across HR functions including People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and HR administration
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll processes in China
- Solid understanding of China labor laws, social insurance, and tax regulations
- Experience working in a global company or collaborating closely with international stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a standalone role with high ownership and accountability
- Proven ability to build and implement HR processes from the ground up
- Strong execution skills with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution
- Strong proficiency in English, with the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience in a fast-growing startup or high-growth tech environment
- Experience supporting or scaling organizations with 100+ employees
- Prior experience as a standalone HR or first HR hire in a region or office
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems, or global HR tools (e.g., Deel, BambooHR, Lattice, Culture Amp)
- Experience handling complex employee relations cases in China
- Exposure to cross-border HR operations or multi-country People practices
