Product Design Manager at Maven Clinic

Maven is seeking a passionate and experienced Product Design Manager to join our Care Delivery team. In this role, you will manage and elevate our product design initiatives, ensuring that our user experiences are accessible, scalable, and innovative across all platforms—Web, iOS, and Android. You will lead a talented team of product designers and work closely with product managers and engineers to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of Maven’s product design.

As a Product Design Manager at Maven, you will: 

  • Lead the Product Design Team: Guide and mentor product designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Vision and Strategy: Set a clear, inspiring vision for product design within the Care Delivery team. Develop and communicate strategic design initiatives that align with Maven’s overall goals, painting a compelling picture of the future to motivate your team and stakeholders.
  • Drive Design Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with Maven’s goals and objectives.
  • Integrate Design and Product: Work closely with product managers to ensure design solutions align with business goals and user needs.
  • Champion User Experience: Advocate for user-centered design principles and ensure a seamless and delightful user experience across all platforms.
  • Facilitate Design Reviews: Lead design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure continuous improvement in design quality.
  • Develop Documentation: Create and maintain documentation to describe the usage and best practices of design components and patterns.
  • Manage Design Assets: Oversee the organization and maintenance of design assets, ensuring consistency and alignment with development releases.
  • Foster Collaboration: Encourage a culture of collaboration and feedback, driving success in the product design process.
  • Strategic Thinking and Process Improvement: Utilize strategic thinking to improve design processes and ensure alignment with broader company goals.

We’re looking for you to bring: 

  • 7+ Years of Experience: Proven experience in product design, including managing and evolving design projects, with at least 2 years as a people manager.
  • Exceptional Design Skills: Strong interaction and visual design skills, with expertise in visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color theory, and brand systems.
  • Platform Familiarity: Knowledge of platform conventions for responsive Web as well as iOS and Android.
  • Foundational Design Principles: Expertise in design principles and best practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Impeccable attention to detail in all aspects of design work.
  • Collaboration and Feedback: Strong emphasis on collaboration and feedback as a driver of success.
  • Expert Figma User: Proficiency in Figma, with the ability to teach and train product designers on best practices.
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and influence various groups and levels of the organization.
  • Self-Starter: Motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced tech startup or agency environment.
  • Passion for Healthcare: Enthusiasm for working on a product dedicated to reimagining women’s and family healthcare.

Compensation:

For candidates in NYC or CO, the salary range for this role is $185,000 to $235,000 per year. You may also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
