Role Overview
We are currently looking for a motivated, proactive, hands-on and energic individual to join the Company’s Accounting team as the Revenue Manager.
This role will report to the Director, Accounting Operations and will be responsible for managing the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (ASC 606) and Billing-to-Cash functions in a public SOX environment. The Revenue Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of revenue and billing operations and will be a key contributor in the timeliness and accuracy of the month-end close process. This individual will also be a partner to and a cross-functional liaison for the Demand, Supply, Agent, Legal, Technical Accounting, Tax and IT teams to ensure all new standard and non-standard agreements are aligned to the Company’s revenue recognition policies and procedures. The ideal candidate values collaboration and the importance of supporting the team, is an effective communicator, self-starter, has strong technical accounting expertise and has the desire to learn and drive to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Own and oversee the month end and quarter end revenue close activities, including preparing or reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and other ad-hoc analysis.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in accounting for revenue, deferred revenue, revenue accruals, unbilled receivables, write-offs, and allowance for current expected credit losses.
- Design, implement, and document processes and internal controls over revenue transactions. Recommend changes to processes and reports to improve productivity and accuracy. Ensure adherence and documentation of SOX process and controls.
- Partner with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor on the day-to-day operations. Including customer onboarding, preparation of month-end invoices and billing, revenue adjustments, revenue imports, cash forecasting, and credit & collections activities,
- Collaborate with Legal and Technical Accounting to identify and analyze issues related to revenue recognition. Review customer contracts and insertion orders to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
- Help maintain the revenue recognition policy for changes in the business, new policies, new product lines, sales incentives, and collaborate with Technical Accounting on technical accounting memos as needed.
- Drive and implement best practices for process improvement and automation opportunities to streamline revenue workflows, reduce manual dependencies, and support scalability by partnering with Product and Technology.
- Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional departments to provide accounting support as needed.
- Coordinate with Tax in the calculation of state apportionment and filing of state tax returns.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits related to revenue. Support SOX compliance initiatives.
- Drive and implement best practices for process improvement and automation. opportunities to streamline revenue workflows, reduce manual dependencies and support scalability.
- Develop a deep understanding of our proprietary platform through queries and reports to investigate and resolve revenue-related discrepancies or provide revenue analysis.
- Lead, train, and mentor the revenue/AR team, fostering individual growth and professional development.
- Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and support.
- Set long and short-range goals and implement strategies to meet desired objectives.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

5+ years of combined public or corporate accounting experience, including hands-on experience in revenue-focused roles and month-end close processes within a SOX environment.

Strong technical accounting expertise with proficiency in ASC 606, US GAAP, and internal controls.

CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred.

Experience with accounting systems and applications; Sage Intacct experience a plus.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Big 4 experience or relevant tech industry experience preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits
