Location: Hybrid in New York City (3 day in-office requirement)
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in reconciliation or financial operations
- Advanced Excel skills, experienced Excel user
- Excellent team working skills, ability to manage own workload
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and promptly address issues
- Be highly numerate and analytical and have very high attention to detail
- Perform well under pressure, with outstanding(!) organization and ability to prioritize.
- Effective research and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated to investigate and solve problems
- Willingness to go the extra mile - assessing situations independently and taking actions to address it/improve processes
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Bonus points:
- SQL/Python knowledge is a plus
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Perform the daily reconciliation duties between internal and/or external records as assigned
- Complete daily positive pay process as assigned
- Identify, investigate and understand all discrepancies
- Proactively identify solutions to prevent recurring problems
- Communicate and escalate discrepancies to appropriate parties for resolution
- Follow through with all matters of escalation from first occurrence to resolution
- Ensure customers’ funds are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements and collaborate with internal and external auditors to address and resolve audit findings
- Working as part of a global team, collaborating effectively to investigate issues and resolve challenges
- Be proactive, contribute to the completion of projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Handle ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned
About the team:
As self-motivated Junior Reconciliation Analyst at Melio, you will be joining a young & dynamic team within Finance. The reconciliation procedures are the core of our payments platform product. You will be reconciling the company’s platform activity against our bank activity and would carry out reconciliations on a daily basis, identify unreconciled items and highlight for investigation.
