Brief Program Description: Join WellPower’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and be a part of a team that provides group and individual therapy to those diagnosed with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders at the Recovery Center. We are seeking a Master’s- level intern (MSW, Counseling, or Addiction Counseling) who is passionate about community behavioral health and delivering co-occurring treatment to the people served. This internship offers hands-on clinical experience working with adults aged 18 and up with co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses, delivering intensive outpatient treatment via group and individual therapy sessions. WellPower’s IOP is a 12-week program for participants enrolled.

Title and Hours required: A minimum of 10 hours a week (15-20 hours perferred) along with a 9–12-month commitment.

Preferred Start date & Schedule: No preference for start date and schedule can be flexible Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm.

Minimum Qualifications and # of openings: Master’s or Doctoral Students in Psychology, Social Work, Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Counseling, or other related human services field with an emphasis on clinical work. 1-2 openings.

Duties of Placement and Miscellaneous Information: Following an initial period of training and shadowing opportunities, the student will ultimately participate in core clinical services offered through the Recovery Center, focusing on delivering treatment to people enrolled in Intensive Outpatient Program. Students will perform duties of an outpatient therapist which will include initial assessment and diagnosis, individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and psychoeducation. The student will participate in a minimum of 1 hour of weekly individual supervision while also having the opportunity to participate in additional small group supervision/case consultations, internal agency training, and team meetings.

Tuberculosis (TB) screening, testing  -  TB  screening and testing, is required and must be completed prior to hire ( i.e., preplacement), and maintained during employment.
