Position Summary: The Clinical Training Specialist advances the quality of care through innovative training initiatives, cultural proficiency, and clinical excellence. This role is responsible for equipping clinical teams with the knowledge, tools, and confidence necessary to deliver exceptional, person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care.

Pay Range & Benefits: $59,000-$74,000/year

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Facilitate Clinical Learning
  • Develop and deliver engaging, learner-centered training programs—live, virtual, and asynchronous—that promote clinical excellence, compliance, fidelity, and cultural responsiveness
  • Instructional Design and eLearning Development
  • Create accessible, interactive eLearning modules and blended learning solutions using adult learning principles and modern instructional design strategies.
  • Lead Training Initiatives
  • Lead projects such as training plan development, role or skill specific training
  • programs, regulatory training oversight, etc.
  • Clinical Practice Consultation
  • Provide expert guidance on documentation, billing, EHR utilization, and regulatory
  • compliance. Serve as a resource for clinical teams navigating complex care
  • scenarios and evolving funding environments.
  • Promote Cultural Proficiency and Trauma-Informed Care
  • Model and integrate culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices across
  • all training and clinical support activities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with departments such as Quality Systems, IS, HISM, and clinical
  • leadership to align training initiatives with organizational goals and emerging
  • needs.
  • Training Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback and data analysis. Continuously
  • refine learning solutions to ensure relevance, impact, and excellence.
  • Training Needs Assessment
  • Contribute to biannual training needs assessments through surveys, data
  • analysis, and direct engagement with clinical teams.
  • Knowledge Management
  • Maintain and update training materials to reflect current best practices,
  • regulatory changes, and organizational priorities.
  • Program Oversight and Compliance
  • Lead or support the administration of specialized training programs, such as the
  • APA continuing education program, EMDR or DBT training programs, and
  • Behavioral Health Administration requirements.
  • Revenue-Generating Program Development
  • Support the creation and implementation of income-generating training
  • initiatives.

Education:

  • LPC, LMFC, LCSW, or similar credentials/clinical experience

Experience:

  • Proven experience designing and delivering engaging clinical training programs.
  • Strong foundation in clinical assessment, service planning, and documentation.
  • Experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, and eLearning development.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems (Avatar or similar) and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (HealthStream), eLearning authoring tools (Articulate and Camtasia), healthcare billing codes/documentation standards, EMDR consultant certification, DBT trainer certification, and bilingual Spanish or ASL a plus.

  • Service Orientation: Responsive and supportive in addressing training needs and inquiries.
  • Training Delivery: Engaging facilitator with confidence in leading sessions of all sizes, both live and virtual.
  • Instructional Design: Capable of developing clear, effective training content for varied audiences.
  • Detail Orientation: Maintains accuracy and consistency across training materials and documentation

Typical Physical & Mental Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone, and other office and/or clinical equipment.
