Director, Product Design

Travel for team and client meetings is required, typically up to 15%.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct multiple projects or a highly complex program of work with the right degree of hands on efforts, inspiring teams to deliver excellent outcomes
- Champion the importance of iteration through conceptual explorations, prototypes and detailed design always founded on a firm understanding of consumer needs and business possibilities
- Partner with senior design leadership in client organizations to champion the value of user centered design, setup/scale their design teams etc.
- Participate in business development efforts by helping frame design perspectives and structuring approaches that reflect a valuable perspective on how business, human behavior and technology can intersect successfully and manifest in the experiences we deliver
- Partner closely with internal product design leadership peers to foster a culture that blends craft excellence, client centricity and an internal design community that is inspired and excited
- Create an environment that brings together the best of various disciplines with care for the uniqueness of each on projects
- Work with teams across the globe on internal and client initiatives and demonstrate the capacity to set up strong cross culture collaborations.
- Foster a culture of curiosity and learning, creating opportunities for employees to learn and grow into our future leaders
- Drive recruitment efforts of a diverse workforce through both inbound vetting and outreach efforts through personal network
- Manage resourcing of team to projects balancing individual ambition, client needs and operational realities
- Collaborate closely with operational functions including resourcing, recruitment etc. to ensure operational excellence.
- Support the careers of direct and indirect reports that demonstrates a focus on building a diverse workforce
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in leading teams to design and launch digital products at scale
- 12- 15 years experience in digital product design from consultancies, agencies etc.
- Your story reflects an ability to mentor a team in delivering good work and managing individuals in their career growth journeys.
- Your portfolio reflects a solid foundation in understanding the complexity and intricacies of business problems, human needs and how they can be solved through products delivered. Your work to solve these is a perfect blend of form and function.
- 5+ year team management experience through direct HR responsibilities for 10+ people
- Undergraduate and/or Masters Degree in Design[product, visual/interaction], or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to successfully articulate the same in business development, C-suite and company wide settings
- Proven ability to partner with senior executives in client organizations, and internally with multiple disciplines on projects at scale
- Proven ability to create/foster an inclusive and healthy community for both direct team(s) and company.

Colorado Applicants (Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act Disclosure): The starting salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is estimated to be between $175k to $210k annually. This salary range is specific to New York City residents only, and provided as a general, good faith estimate. The amount offered may be higher or lower.
