Who you are
Metropolis is seeking a passionate and proactive Senior Workplace Experience Lead to bring energy, creativity, and structure to our New York City HQ. This role blends the strategic with the hands-on, managing day-to-day office operations while also owning the employee experience in ways that inspire connection, culture, and collaboration. What you'll do
- Oversee daily operations and the onsite experience, including managing inventory systems for catering, shipping, and office supplies to ensure a highly functional and productive workspace
- Manage annual operating and capital budgets, meticulously tracking financial variances and optimizing expenses to drive cost efficiency
- Lead relationships with service providers, building management, and cross-functional HQ locations to ensure seamless performance and continuous operational improvement
- Manage end-to-end office real estate projects, including lease transitions, the decommissioning of existing locations, and coordinating build-outs with vendors to ensure "Day 1" operational readiness for new spaces
- Establish department policies, procedures, and site standards by conducting regular condition audits, resolving identified deficiencies, and ensuring full compliance with local regulations and company best practices
- Oversee daily onsite operations and workplace service delivery, prioritizing and resolving issues via the local ticketing platform to maintain a seamless employee experience
- Execute end-to-end food and beverage programs, which includes weekly planning and ad hoc catering, maintaining a robust inventory of snacks and kitchen essentials, and implementing eco-friendly waste-reduction practices
- Strategically manage the food and beverage budget, balancing high-quality employee perks with cost-effective purchasing and sustainable sourcing strategies
- Design and execute high-impact office experiences and major events, including leadership offsites, holiday parties, team celebrations, and new hire onboarding to energize the team and ensure a remarkable employee experience
- Drive continuous improvement for workplace initiatives by gathering and analyzing participant feedback to assess the impact of events and optimize future programming
What we're looking for
- 4+ years in workplace experience, facilities, or office operations in a fast-paced environment
- A creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset who thrives on autonomy
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to juggle priorities with calm and clarity
- An enthusiastic, magnetic presence who brings others along with their energy
- Proactive and self-driven—you don’t wait to be told what to fix or improve
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, and simultaneous projects
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and project management tools
- Experience executing culture initiatives within a startup or high-growth company
- Demonstrated success with return-to-office engagement or office-first transitions
- Proven ability to report on workplace engagement and usage trends
4 Days in Office: Metropolis values in-person collaboration to drive innovation, strengthen culture, and enhance the Member experience. Our corporate team members hold to our office-first model, which requires employees to be on-site at least four days a week, fostering organic interactions that spark creativity and connection
When you join Metropolis, you'll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. You will play a key role in building and maintaining this culture as our organization grows. The anticipated base salary for this position is $85,000.00 USD to $110,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis' total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans, and more. #LI-WT1 #LI-Onsite
