Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and security-minded IT Systems Engineer to join our team at Millennium Space Systems, A Boeing Company.
IT Systems Engineers are responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, integrating, and maintaining secure enterprise and air-gapped systems with a complex variety of operating systems, software applications, and hardware. IT Systems Engineers work with collaborative teams of peers that specialize in providing our customers with technical solutions that are timely, secure, and innovative.
This position's internal job code is System Design & Integration Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for levels 4.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, install, and manage the deployment of operating systems(Windows, Red Hat), applications, hardware (Dell), and network (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper) components
- Employ security best practices and document designs, diagrams, maintenance, and support procedures for secure environments
- Use technical expertise and experience to provide guidance and mentorship to system administrators when necessary
- Provide Tier III and below support when required and facilitate Tier IV support from vendors
- Work with other teams and customers to ensure technological solutions meet security and schedule requirements
- Work with approved vendors to ensure the configuration and purchase of new equipment, software, and licenses are feasible and cost-efficient
Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an 8570 compliant IAT Level II or higher certification (CompTIA Security+ equivalent or higher)
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an IT Systems Engineer or a related role.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator or a greater/related role
- Demonstrated experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networks, workstations, and servers (virtual and physical)
- Experience with hardening systems in accordance with industry security standards (JSIG, DISA STIGS, CIS, NIST, etc)
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and upgrading complex IT systems
- Proven understanding and experience with VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, VMs, datastores, Replication)
- Expertise designing, deploying, and integrating Windows and Linux (Red Hat) workstations and servers both physical and virtual within the same enterprise domains
- Experience creating and applying group policies that ensure security while maintaining functionality
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in a heterogenous environment
- Knowledge of networking concepts and devices including switches, routers, and firewalls
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple projects and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Scripting and automation knowledge (Powershell, Python, Bash, YAML, etc.)
- Experience with one or more Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages (System Security Plan, Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M)
- Experience with Microsoft applications (SQL, Office, Outlook, Exchange, etc)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
- Working knowledge of Hyper-V architecture and implementation
- Experience with Dell PowerEdge and PowerProtect products
Summary Pay-Range
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Level 4: $116,450 - $171,250
