Job Summary
Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, is seeking a Senior-level Software Engineer with deep LabVIEW expertise to join our Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team. In this role, you’ll design and develop software that powers test systems, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, and custom electrical test equipment used to validate spacecraft hardware.
This role is ideal for engineers with a proven track record in National Instruments (NI) software ecosystems, who combine hands-on development skill with the ability to guide teams, set technical direction, and establish engineering best practices. You will work closely with Assembly Test and Launch Operations (ATLO), Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering to ensure our test solutions meet the highest standards of performance, maintainability, and compliance, directly impacting mission success.
This position's internal job code is Elect Design and Analysis Engr. Our team is currently hiring for Levels 4-5.
Responsibilities
- Architect and Lead the development of LabVIEW-based EGSE and HIL applications from concept through deployment, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Define technical direction for EGSE software across multiple programs, creating standards, frameworks, and reusable components for team-wide adoption.
- Own full software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, integration, verification, deployment, and sustainment.
- Lead integration of NI hardware (PXI, cRIO, DAQ, instrumentation).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish system-level test strategies and software requirements for embedded system validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues in production and environmental test environments.
- Drive DevOps adoption with GitLab CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing technical reviews, coaching, and career growth support.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for program stakeholders, customers, and leadership on EGSE software matters.
- Delegate and oversee large sections of work, forming and leading sub-teams as needed to deliver on aggressive schedules.
- Champion continuous improvement, implementing processes that raise the quality, efficiency, and reliability of all EGSE software efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 9+ years of professional LabVIEW development experience, including architecture and large-scale system integration.
- Proven track record delivering NI-based test systems in production environments.
- Expertise in instrumentation, automated test systems, and data acquisition.
- Strong debugging, integration, and troubleshooting skills in a hardware-in-the-loop environment
- Proficiency with Git, issue tracking systems, and structured software development processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 14+ years of professional LabVIEW experience, with Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or higher.
- Professional experience with NI TestStand and large-scale test automation in aerospace or defense.
- Familiarity with EGSE for space or other high-reliability systems.
- Fluency in additional programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar for automation, tooling, and integration.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools, containers, or virtual machines
- Knowledge of NASA or MIL-STD environmental test protocols
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one.

Summary Pay-Range
- Level 4: $126,650 - $186,250
- Level 5: $155,550 - $228,750
