
Associate Execution Trader

Position
MIO is seeking an Associate Execution Trader to join the Investment team and report directly to our Execution Trading Manager.
Adhering to MIO best practices, this individual will develop expertise across multiple asset classes and be responsible for the efficient execution of our trading strategies. The successful candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and proactive in trading and supporting tasks (execution, booking, transaction cost monitoring).
The Investment team functions in a highly collaborative and intellectually challenging environment. Our Portfolio Managers oversee our research-driven approach to the financial markets, with a focus on mathematical and scientific rigor and standards. In addition to execution, the Associate Execution Trader is expected to become an integral part of the trading and research-focused team, contributing to ad hoc initiatives and projects as required.
Primary responsibilities
- Work closely with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to execute investment ideas in the market
- Ensure optimal execution across multiple asset class areas
- Leverage portfolio management system for trade entry and portfolio tracking
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with trading counterparties
- Lead and manage trading-related process projects and ongoing tasks; analyze, propose, and implement improvements
Desired background
Experience
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in execution trading, trading assistance, or similar function
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university
- Basic understanding of financial instruments across various asset classes (Commodities, Equities, Fixed Income, Volatility, and FX)
- Strong attention to detail and operational accuracy
- Values-driven, high sense of personal accountability
- Ability to assess, prioritize and execute multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain internal/external relationships
Technical skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to quickly learn relevant applications such as trade execution platforms (Bloomberg FXGO, EMSX, FIT, etc.) and portfolio management systems
- Technical proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of a programming language a plus

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual’s assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance. Base salary range
$130,000 - $130,000 USD
