Summary of Role: As the Platform Specialist you will serve as the critical technical bridge between dealership technicians, field staff, and engineering teams, providing expert diagnostic support that directly impacts customer satisfaction and vehicle quality. You'll conduct investigations of emerging technical issues, delivering preliminary analysis and ensuring rapid, effective solutions for customer vehicle repairs. This role offers the opportunity to enhance responsiveness across our entire service network while contributing to continuous improvements in overall vehicle quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Problem Resolution – Support Tech Line agents to handle complex Tech-Line calls and provide advanced diagnostic support, ensuring complete resolution of challenging vehicle repair issues from initial contact through final closure
  • Investigate and Analyze Emerging Issues - Conduct in-depth technical investigations of product quality concerns, providing preliminary analysis and detailed reporting to Product Support Management
  • Identify potential field quality issues based on data – Analyze Tech-Line calls/cases, warranty claims, customer connection calls and Product Quality Reports (“PQR”) from Canada and US-territories in close collaboration with key stakeholders, implement additional reporting with key stakeholders
  • Drive Failure Resolution – partner with internal stakeholders and Mitsubishi Motors (“MMC”) for identified issues using existing reporting structures to address, escalate and follow-up on identified quality concerns
  • Communicate Failure Resolution – Develop and align Technical Service Bulletins (“TSB”) and Technical Information Newsletter (“TIN”) for emerging issues to increase Fix Right First Time (“FRFT”), Dealer and Customer Satisfaction Index (“CSI”)
  • Support Advanced Vehicle Programs - Provide specialized technical assistance for prototype and pre-production vehicles, contributing valuable field insights to next-generation product development
  • Maintain Technical Documentation - Prepare comprehensive written reports with digital photography, maintain accurate KTI databases, and ensure timely reporting that supports continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify Technical Training Opportunities– Align with Warranty, Management, and Technical Training team on additional trainings needed to improve FRFT, CSI and to lower warranty and goodwill. Travel to dealerships and Vehicle Processing Centers to provide hands-on technical assistance, port modification training, and specialized support to field operations as needed
  • Support Advanced Vehicle Programs - Provide specialized technical assistance for prototype and pre-production vehicles, contributing valuable field insights to next-generation product development
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams - Work directly with engineering staff to investigate field complaints, duplicate product quality conditions, and implement effective solutions
  • Support Team Members – Provide support to technical staff, especially but not limited to Tech Line Team, sharing expertise to elevate overall team capabilities and contribute to a collaborative learning environment
  • Drive Continuous Learning - Partner with team members, key stakeholders and management to identify training opportunities, attend technical development programs, and stay current with evolving automotive technologies
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of “hands-on” vehicle analytical/technical experience in positions such as: Automotive Training Instructor, Automotive Repair Technician, etc.
  • BA/BS degree in automotive technology or related technical area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • ASE Master Technician Certification.
  • May require 5% travel (both domestic and international).
  • Must maintain a valid unconditional driver’s license and MMNA approved driving record.

Pay Transparency: 

The base salary for this position ranges between $70,000 to $85,000. The base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
