About the Role

The Senior Manager, People & Talent Operations is a key operational leader on the People & Culture team, responsible for the systems, tools, processes, and programs that power Mixpanel's people function end-to-end. Reporting to the VP of People, this role owns our HR and talent technology ecosystem, global benefits administration, compensation operations, headcount planning, and people analytics. You will lead and develop a team of three, partnering closely with Finance, Recruiting, and People Business Partners to drive operational excellence and a seamless employee experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle. This role is hybrid in San Francisco, with remote candidates also considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and support a small team consisting of a Talent Operations Lead, People Operations Manager, and Compensation Partner
  • Oversee Mixpanel's HR tech stack, including HRIS, ATS (Greenhouse), performance and engagement platform (Lattice), compensation tooling (CandorIQ), and additional tools as needed; drive system optimization and data integrity across all platforms
  • Lead (partnering with Finance/Payroll) the ongoing HRIS migration from Paylocity to UKG, ensuring continuity of operations, data accuracy, and a smooth employee experience throughout the transition
  • Own recruiting operations (via Talent Ops Lead), including ATS configuration, hiring workflow design, process documentation, and data hygiene in Greenhouse 
  • Manage US and global benefits programs, including benefits vendor relationships and broker partnerships; oversee PEO relationships for employees in smaller international markets
  • Own Mixpanel's immigration program, partnering with external counsel to support visa sponsorships, work authorization, and compliance across all geographies
  • Own compensation operations in partnership with the Compensation Partner, including compensation survey participation, job architecture maintenance, compensation education and end-to-end compensation cycle administration
  • Build and maintain people analytics infrastructure, including regular workforce reporting, executive dashboards, and ad hoc analysis for senior leadership
  • Partner with Finance on headcount planning processes, ensuring accurate data, clean tooling, and streamlined workflows across People and Finance systems
  • Design, document, and continuously improve People processes to drive efficiency, compliance, and a best-in-class employee experience
  • Evaluate and manage external vendors and partners across the people tech, and benefits landscape as Mixpanel scales
  • Identify and implement AI-powered tools and automation to streamline People workflows, reduce manual effort, and increase the speed and accuracy of operations across the team

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • 8+ years of progressive HR/people operations experience, with at least 2 years in a people management role
  • Hands-on experience owning and administering HRIS platforms at scale; experience with UKG or Paylocity is a strong plus
  • Experience managing US and international benefits programs, including broker and vendor relationships
  • Familiarity with PEO models and global employment solutions for smaller international markets
  • Experience owning recruiting operations and ATS administration a plus; Greenhouse experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record of building people dashboards and workforce reports for executive audiences
  • Experience partnering with Finance on headcount planning processes and tooling
  • A systems-thinking mindset with a passion for building scalable, well-documented processes, and a track record of leveraging AI tools to automate workflows and drive operational efficiency
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and a high degree of ownership and follow-through
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent track record of building and scaling people operations functions

Compensation

The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. In addition to the cash compensation provided, this position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked to the SF Bay Area Technology data cut released by Radford, a global compensation database. The range displayed represents the minimum and maximum TTCC for new hire salaries for the position across all of our US locations. To stay on top of market conditions, we refresh our salary ranges twice a year so these ranges may change in the future. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and other factors. $216,750 - $293,250 USD
