Social Associate
Working through Modern Animal’s social and review channels, The Social Associate will pave the way for the brand's growth by scaling our social influence and safeguarding our reputation within the digital sphere.
The ideal candidate is a digital native, a natural communicator, and a bonafide brand builder with the proven ability to engage and influence people across social channels. You are able to balance your innate creativity with deep analysis of performance to constantly adapt to conditions on the field and iterate on your approach. While your finger is on the pulse of what’s trending now, you can anticipate “the next thing” and drive culture—not just follow it. You have the skill and attention to detail needed to develop and nurture collaborative relationships with content creators and influencers, and can use those relationships to amplify a brand’s message. Most importantly, you’re eager to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to help Modern Animal win.
This role reports directly to The Sr. Manager of Brand and will work from our headquarters in Culver City, CA, with flexibility for remote work during set days of the week.
In this role you will:
- Optimize Modern Animal’s presence on social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), ensuring that they are set-up to achieve maximal reach
- Apply your knowledge of trends and the social sphere to drive a social calendar (scheduling, captioning, etc.) that persistently keeps Modern Animal top of mind for existing customers and promotes consideration by potential customers and talent
- Develop content both independently and in partnership with video producers and designers that amplifies our message and drives engagement and affinity for the brand
- Perform outbound social engagement with relevant accounts to proactively grow Modern Animal’s reach and following in existing and new markets
- Moderate Modern Animal’s reputation and respond to reviews on Yelp and Google reviews
- Develop strategies that engage our customers to promote Modern Animal on social and leave positive reviews on review platforms
- Source and maintain partnerships with influencers relevant to Modern Animal’s target audience. Collaborate with our growth marketing team to measure the impact of influencer marketing.
- Analyze and report on content performance to inform Modern Animal’s social, content, and brand strategy
- Document and synthesize online chatter about the brand across social and review platforms to help inform the strategic priorities of the marketing team and our cross-functional partners
Why you’d be a great fit:
- You are scrappy and innately collaborative, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally to get sh*t done
- You have 2-3 years of experience managing social media for a brand, with a strong understanding of what drives performance within TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- You have helped scale a brand’s presence on TikTok from 0-1
- You communicate with advanced skill in copywriting and editing, and can adapt style, tone, and voice to varied content types and audiences, while staying on-brand and on-message
- You have intermediate skill in independently creating and editing content, especially within mobile and socially native tools, and can also point to projects where you have worked alongside designers and video producers to make magic happen
- You are comfortable with data and using native and third-party social media analytics tools to extract and interpret performance results against business goals
- You are based in Los Angeles, with the ability to work out of our HQ or in our clinics most days of the week
