The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco:

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Director, Compliance Officer, with at least 12-15 years of experience in global technology, AdTech, or data-driven organizations to own, lead and scale Moloco’s enterprise compliance program to support rapid global growth, increasing regulatory scrutiny, and public company readiness.  Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be responsible for Moloco’s enterprise compliance strategy, governance, and risk oversight.  You will partner across Legal, Finance, Security/GRC and business, People, Product and Engineering leadership to operationalize regulatory requirements into scalable, auditable processes that enable global growth, and protect stakeholders while preserving speed and innovation. This role will play a foundational part in building a cohesive, enterprise-wide compliance governance program as Moloco continues to scale globally. You will also have regular exposure to senior leadership and the Board, helping translate complex compliance risks into clear, actionable insights. This role is designed for a bar-qualified attorney who will apply legal judgment and discretion to provide legal advice as a primary function, including advising on compliance obligations, risk mitigation, and investigations.

This role is based near our Menlo Park, CA office and follows a hybrid in-office schedule.

The Opportunity:

  • Build and lead Moloco’s enterprise-wide compliance function as the company scales globally.
  • Implement an integrated compliance operating model across Legal, GRC/ Security, People, Engineering,Product and business teams with clear, cohesive governance, decision rights, and accountability.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to embed compliance into product development and launch workflows enabling responsible innovation at scale.
  • Establish Board- and executive-level visibility into compliance risks, controls, incidents, and remediation progress.
  • Design and operationalize audit-ready, scalable compliance capabilities.
  • Help position compliance as a strategic enabler of growth, trust, and long-term value, not a blocker to speed or innovation. 
  • Play a foundational role in shaping Moloco’s compliance culture and create engagement and influence around compliance priorities. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on emerging regulatory risks, complex product decisions, and global expansion strategies.
  • Build and manage a team of compliance professionals which will initially consist of a compliance program manager and an analyst
  • Provide legal advice as a primary function on the design and operation of the enterprise compliance program.
  • Advise on and oversee investigations, including providing legal guidance on scope, documentation, and confidentiality.

How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me?

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) or  Master's Degree in Science, Business, Engineering strongly preferred (bar qualification required)
  • Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., CCEP, CRMA, CRISC, CCEP-I)
  • Have at least 12-15 years of in-house experience in compliance, legal, risk, or regulatory leadership within a global technology, AdTech, or data-driven organizations 
  • Proven track record advising senior leadership in complex global regulatory and compliance matters
  • Experience scaling compliance programs to support business growth
  • Have deep experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Security teams in fast-moving environments
  • Experience leading through regulatory inquiries, audits, or enforcement actions
  • Proactive and detail-oriented mindset with a track record of successfully managing global compliance initiatives and driving cultural change.
  • Capable of driving alignment with industry Ad Tech frameworks, including IAB standards and emerging best practices.
  • Familiarity with global privacy, advertising, data governance, restricted party, and anti-corruption regimes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and sound judgment to handle complex compliance issues.
  • Ability to lead through legal and regulatory ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to support global teams and initiatives.
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (or otherwise bar-qualified attorney in good standing, as applicable), with demonstrated experience providing legal advice in-house.

Our Compensation And Benefits (for United States Residents Only)

In accordance with various state laws, the range provided is a reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. We also offer a competitive benefits package.

Base Pay Range:

$300,000 - $390,000 USD
