Sales Development Representative

Australia

Momence is a next-gen booking and communications platform for experience-based businesses like yoga and pilates studios, gyms, dance schools, salons, spas, golf facilities, and more. We support over 5,500 businesses with scheduling, payments, communications, marketing solutions, and backend automation. Through our Momence app, hundreds of thousands of customers book their wellness experiences every month.

As a remote-first company backed by Y Combinator (Summer 2020), we are revolutionizing the experience economy by providing modern software solutions to an underserved industry.

About the role

As our first in-house APAC Sales Development Representative (SDR), you'll be pivotal in expanding Momence's presence in Australia. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven sales professional to help transition our outbound sales efforts in-house and set the foundation for our future SDR team. While we've already established our footprint in the Australian market, we're looking for someone who can help us take our growth to the next level.

This role focuses on booking meetings with prospective customers for our Account Executives, with quota based on qualified opportunities produced. You'll:

  • Lead our outbound prospecting efforts in the Australian market
  • Help develop and refine our APAC sales playbook based on market learnings
  • Provide crucial feedback on regional market dynamics and customer needs
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Collaborate with our global team to adapt successful strategies for the APAC market
  • Manage sales activities and account information in our CRM (Hubspot)

This is a full-time, contracted, remote role for which we are only considering qualified candidates who reside in and are authorized to work from Australia.

About you

You love speaking with people, enjoy tackling tricky problems, and aren't the least bit skittish about cold calling. As our first in-house SDR in APAC, you're excited by the opportunity to help build our regional sales function from the ground up. You thrive in dynamic environments where you can pioneer new approaches while delivering consistent results. You're driven by quota attainment, genuinely enjoy helping small business owners succeed, and are comfortable with core sales fundamentals (think: closing, overcoming objections, driving conversations, etc.). If you combine a builder's mindset with strong sales skills, this could be a perfect role for you.

What you should have

While we welcome experience from a wide range of career and industry backgrounds, all candidates should meet the following qualifications for consideration:

  • 1+ years of sales experience
  • Demonstrated capacity for high volume phone work
  • Disciplined work ethic and eagerness to learn
  • Excellent phone presence
  • An empathetic, service-oriented, problem solving sales approach

We'll be particularly excited if you also have

  • 1+ year of outbound cold-calling experience
  • Experience working in early stage startups (even bonus points for being the first SDR before!)
  • Personal or professional experience in the customer verticals we serve (fitness, yoga, wellness, classes, etc.)
  • Experience working, communicating, and connecting with small business owners

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation package which includes variable commission multipliers for quota attainment and uncapped commission structure
  • Home office equipment allowance
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • 100% remote position within Australia
  • Clear path for growth as we scale our regional presence

At Momence, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment where there is respect, regardless of your background or identity. We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
