A Day in the Life:
Own the flow. Drive the supply chain. Lead the planning and execution of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to keep pace with business growth and sales demand. Leverage planning systems and data-driven tools to generate purchase orders, optimize inventory levels, and proactively track supply through to fulfillment. Stay ahead of disruptions, solve challenges before they happen, and ensure the right products are delivered in the right quantities, at the right time, every time.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Collaborate with various business partners as well as internal team members to generate and update production plans and the material requirements plans to support them.
- Use available software planning tools to automate planning tasks as well as to generate purchase orders.
- Understand various planning parameters used by the planning system and how they need to be maintained and configured to effectively manage supply plans. Closely work with the product development teams to support new products implementation through the supply of new raw materials.
- Work closely with vendors in preparing material requirements projections and plans, identifying any constraints within the planning horizon so that they can be mitigated, and reviewing long range plans so that adequate capacity is available to support the company’s strategic objectives.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in sufficient quantities and with agreed lead times, and ensure that purchase order data in the system is accurate.
- Update and modify orders as and when required, and confirm purchase orders with vendors to ensure accuracy of data including delivery date, quantity, unit of measure etc.
- Work with internal team members and business partners to ensure accurate reporting of inventory across all locations that store or consume raw materials to alleviate unnecessary inventories and optimize existing inventories.
- Proactively identify slow moving and obsolete raw material risks, report and follow up by closely working with other functional teams.
- Regularly check for potential stock-outs due to purchasing delivery delay.
- Take immediate action to ensure material availability.
- Co-ordinate activities between co-packers, suppliers, team members, and the Quality departments to drive reductions in obsolescence by actively managing slow moving ingredients
- Act as the primary liaison between Operations and Finance/Accounts Payable departments in support of payment activities, to include financial period close.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of -- Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics or related field of study
- Between 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, planning or supply chain
- Between 1-3 years of experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment
- Advance user Microsoft Office. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software Experience (SAP Preferred)
- Fluent in English in order to communicate effectively with regional counterparts
