VP of Product

New York - Hybrid

About Monstro

Monstro is an AI-native fintech platform reimagining how people and institutions manage money. We’re building a modern foundation for financial decision-making—combining intelligence, automation, and elegant design to help users make smarter choices with confidence.

Our team includes experienced builders from leading fintech, wealth management, and technology companies, united by a shared goal: to create a category-defining product that transforms how financial insight is delivered and acted on.

The Opportunity

Monstro is hiring a VP of Product who is AI-native and thrives in high-ownership, early-stage environments. Product direction, documentation, and early designs are already in place. Now we need a product leader who can turn that foundation into a scalable product engine.

Monstro is defining an entirely new category in modern banking and this is not a traditional “inherit a mature team and roadmap” role. It’s a hands-on leadership role for someone who builds the operating model and scales products from a defined MVP to multi-bank adoption. If your experience is rooted primarily in process management at large organizations, this is not the right fit.

You’ll work directly with the Founder, COO, and CTO to build the operating model for how Monstro designs, ships, and iterates across two products:

  1. a bank-branded mobile consumer experience, and
  2. an institutional platform for bankers, advisors, and operators.

This role is ideal for someone who prototypes with AI, collaborates deeply with design and engineering, and can translate goals into clear, elegant, user-centric solutions.

What You’ll Do

Build the Product Operating System

  • Turn existing vision and designs into a clear product development workflow.
  • Define a modern, AI-first product process.
  • Leverage AI tools to explore concepts, workflows, prototypes, and user journeys.
  • Build from first principles rather than copying existing banking/fintech patterns.

From Defined MVP → First Customers → Scale

  • Start from a defined MVP: finalize, refine, and prepare it for early customers.
  • Lead the product evolution beyond MVP as we expand into multiple banks.
  • Shape the roadmap across mobile consumer experience and institutional workflows and tools.
  • Work directly with early customers to validate assumptions, refine workflows, and shape the next stages of the product.

Dual Product Leadership

  • Own the bank-branded mobile experience and the institutional platform.
  • Define how these connect, share intelligence, and reinforce each other.

Execution & Team Development

  • Partner directly with engineering and design to ship quickly and iterate.
  • Establish simple, effective ways of planning, prioritizing, and making product decisions.
  • Lead design from Day 1 and hire and develop product talent as the company scales.

Category Definition

  • Create the language and mental models for a new financial product category.
  • Define how banks guide customers using AI-native intelligence, creating a modern approach to financial guidance, personalization, and actionability.

You’re a solid fit if you…

  • Think in first principles, not legacy banking logic.
  • Apply AI across design, product requirements, and technical handoff to speed up exploration and iteration.
  • Can move between consumer UX and institutional workflow design.
  • Listen closely to early customers, surface the most important product opportunities, and translate them into fast, high-impact improvements.
  • Have built products with minimal resources, imperfect inputs, and fast iteration cycles.
  • Are energized by building a new product category rather than optimizing an existing one.

Experience

  • 10+ years in product; solid early-stage or growth-stage experience
  • AI-native mindset with hands-on experience across design, product requirements, user stories, and technical handoff
  • Experience in fintech, wealth, banking, or complex data products is preferred
  • Strong builder DNA (you have shipped products without an army behind you)

Why Monstro?

  • Ownership & Impact: Shape the future of AI-powered finance—building a category-defining product used by consumers and institutions around the world.
  • Elite Team: Join a leadership team with a track record of scaling companies from early stage to major exits.
  • Principles-Driven Culture: Work in a culture that values speed, ownership, and impact—what most companies achieve in 90 days, we do in 45.
  • Compensation: $250K–$280K base + equity and performance upside.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
