The Role

As the Marketing Lead for the new market launches, starting with Ireland, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Monzo's presence outside of the UK. . Reporting to the Director of Markets and VP Marketing, you'll be responsible for crafting and executing innovative marketing strategies that resonate with local consumers and businesses.

This role requires an entrepreneurial individual with experience in new country launches and entry marketing, product marketing and growth strategies. Familiarity with the marketing requirements under the Consumer Protection Code 2012 is a strong plus. You'll work closely with the Irish Country Manager to create and launch the go to market strategy for Ireland as your first project.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Go-to-Market Launch Strategy & Marketing: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan tailored for each new market, including media/channel strategies, communication tactics, and integrated marketing campaigns. 
  • Creative problem-solver: You will have the resources of a large company to creatively problem solve how to launch into a new market successfully. You will be faced with growth, marketing and how to solve creatively in ways that scale. 
  • Market Insights: Aggregate trends, customer feedback and market insights into clearly defined positioning that works with Monzo brand narratives and story.  Collaborate with product teams to refine Monzo's value proposition for consumers in new markets. Leverage your experience in product marketing to communicate the benefits of Monzo's offerings effectively. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Navigate the regulatory landscape in each market, starting with Ireland to ensure all marketing activities adhere to local regulations.
  • Media and Communications: Oversee media relations and communication strategies to build brand awareness and drive engagement.
  • Integrated Marketing across channels: Develop and implement integrated marketing plans across multiple channels, including digital, social, and traditional media. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Interface with senior stakeholders within Monzo to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives. 
  • Brand Consistency: Uphold Monzo's brand identity and values while adapting to the nuances of the Irish market. Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all touchpoints.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including the Consumer Protection Code 2012.
  • Reporting: Work with data teams to report frequently on key metrics, providing insights and actions.

This is for you if you’re an:

  • Experienced and strategic marketer with a track record of success in launching and scaling brands (preferably consumer brands) in Ireland.
  • It is a plus if you can demonstrate experience of taking a brand from another jurisdiction and localising it for the Irish market.
  • Strong understanding of product marketing, growth strategies, and regulatory environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and is happy to operate at all levers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders.
  • Passionate about Monzo's mission and committed to delivering exceptional results.
  • Are willing to travel. We foresee this role will have travel to/from EU and the UK

The Interview Process:

Our interview process involves three main stages: 

  • Recruiter Call (30minutes)
  • Initial Call (30 minutes)
  • 3 interviews via Google Meet, one will include a case study (x3 45 minutes)
  • Final interview with our EU CEO (30 minutes)

Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
