You’ll be part of the Customer Acquisition squad, a team of growth specialists dedicated to driving new user growth through the Monzo website.

You’ll work closely with the Web Content Strategist and Editorial Lead to ideate, plan and create content which meets search demand and adds value to our visitors. We’re looking for someone who is focused on a holistic approach to growth, thinking not just about how to get more traffic, but how we move that traffic through the website and  towards sign up.

You’ll have a good base understanding of technical SEO, and feel confident conducting technical site audits using Ahrefs and Screaming Frog to identify issues. You’ll work with our web engineering team and via our CMS to resolve issues and keep site errors at bay.

Finally, you’ll be a crucial part of our link building and digital PR strategy. Working with our internal teams and agency support to come up with ideas which will drive high quality links to key product pages.

In addition to your SEO responsibilities, you’ll support our marketing and product teams with updating the website, becoming an expert in our CMS and how to get the most out of it.

As Monzo expands beyond the UK, you’ll be involved in planning and executing how we scale our web and SEO strategy to new countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inform what new content we should be creating for Monzo.com via keyword research & brief creation
  • On-site optimisation - ensuring the basics of on-page optimisation are done such as optimising meta data, resolving broken links and implementing internal linking
  • Support Editorial Lead, SEO Lead and Content Strategist with competitor and market research, in the UK and overseas
  • Support SEO Lead in researching backlink opportunities, developing backlink projects, and working with partner websites and PR team to gain new backlinks
  • Responsible for uploading and amending content on Monzo.com - become an expert in our CMS and how to get the most out of it
  • Manage website change requests
  • Support SEO reporting, helping the business understand how we’re progressing and what growth we’re driving

This is for you if:

  • You have some experience in SEO, but you’re still learning your craft. We’re looking for someone ambitious who can grow with the business
  • You’re happy to get stuck in. While we do use agencies, much of our work is done in-house, so you need to be happy doing the doing
  • You are comfortable with an all-rounder SEO role, switching between tech audits and content planning
  • You’re analytical, reviewing opportunities to understand how we can make the greatest impact with our work
  • You think holistically about end to end customer journey, not just traffic

  • Initial Call (30 minutes)
  • Take Home Task (to be submitted within 7 days of receiving the instructions)
  • x2 final interviews via Google Meet (45 minutes each)
