Senior Hardware Engineer, Radar Components
Our Component Hardware Engineering Team in Pittsburgh is looking for an experienced Senior Radar Component Engineer to lead the development of cutting edge Radar technology. The Senior Radar Component Engineer will be responsible for creating requirements, selecting suppliers, sourcing, supplier management, system integration, testing, issue resolution, and production release activities. This is an on-site Hybrid position.
What you'll be doing:
- Technical Supplier Management - co-ordinate technical activities and project milestones between internal and external stakeholders
- Compile and create complete set of requirements for Radar Components
- Collaboration with Multiple Teams (Perception, Systems, Mechanical, Vehicle, Manufacturing, Quality, SW, Cybersecurity, Diagnostic, Reliability)
- Develop and support testing for ML based algorithms including test development, planning, execution, and data collection activities
- Develop and lead radar acceptance, performance, and characterization testing
- Ensure and support vehicle integration efforts
- Lead root cause analysis and issue resolution
- Lead Continuous Improvement Projects for Components
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree within Engineering (STEM) or a related field of study
- Deep understanding of Radar hardware, Radar DSP, and Radar testing/performance
- Proven experience in the development of automotive Radar Components
- Experience with radar system design
- 5+ years of experience in automotive or similar industry
- Experience with multi-domain controllers, secure gateways, or ADAS controller development
- Comfortable debugging, disassembling, modifying, and installing electrical and mechanical systems in vehicles
- Ability to work effectively within rigid design, integration, and time constraints
- Basic knowledge of common vehicle electrical and networking systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.)
- Ability to interface globally with persons of all levels and abilities, including both internal and external teams, to achieve project success
- Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to balance and prioritize multiple diverse projects
- Ability to quickly and creatively solve problems, independently and in teams, while maintaining quality work
- Experience with hands-on vehicle integration, including wiring harnesses and packaging is preferred
This position may require the use of power tools. Power tools are defined by OSHA as any electric, pneumatic, liquid fuel, hydraulic, and powder-actuated tool.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to convey and detect communication. The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary at times for up to 50% of working
time, move in designated working areas; & operate and use office equipment. The employee must occasionally move up to 50 pounds
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. Salary Range
$115,000 - $174,000 USD
