Role Overview
The Finance Intern will be expected to perform the following tasks:
- Assist the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis with the implementation of a new budget and forecasting software including project management, user acceptance testing, and other duties as needed
- Assist with budget application maintenance
- Assist with budget preparation for 2025
- Assist with updating spreadsheets and databases
- Develop reporting templates, checklists, update supporting documentation
Department Accountabilities
Budgeting
Set, analyze, and monitor budgets in line with organization strategy; identify financial trends.
Treasury
Design, develop, and deliver treasury strategy and operations.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols
Develop financial guidelines and protocols in response to statutory and financial requirements.
Operational Compliance
Adhere to internal policies and procedures and external standards, including regulatory codes and voluntary codes of conduct, to minimize business risk and protect the organization's reputation.
Organizational Risk Management
Develop and/or deliver on activities to keep track of the organization's risk profile and limit the organization's exposure to undue risks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position will not have any supervisory responsibility.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Strong computer and data analysis skills (knowledge of Accounting systems is a plus)
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility and ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks
- Genuine commitment to the principles and work of the MSF movement
- Familiarity with discovery process and ability to work with implementation partner on developing detailed business requirements for development and implementation
- Adept at scheduling, agendas, and following up with all aspects of meetings with the implementation partner, core team members, and the end users
- Ability to understand enterprise-level project plans and manage resources, deadlines, deliverables, communications, and other project management responsibilities

COMPENSATION
$18 per hour is the hourly rate
We do not accept phone calls or emails during the recruitment process. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Our staff works a hybrid schedule with the ability to come into either the NYC office or regional hub (Washington, DC or Bay Area, California) a minimum of 2 times a week. The required days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from January to June and September to December.
In office work attendance during July and August is optional.
